How Does One Tell If One Has Usb 1.1 Or 2?

<div class="IPBDescription">I tried googling..</div> It may seem a very stupid question but I tried googling, I tried looking at USB's website (stupid USB propaganda..) and I tried Dell support. But I can't seem to find an easy way to find out if my USB ports are 1.1 or 2. Suck a monkey.

The reason I ask is that I recently purchased a USB2 hub in anticipation of buying more USB goodies (mouse, printer, external hard drive) but after plugging it in, the thing informed me that I was in fact not USB2. Naturally I don't trust the stupid hub so..

My current rig is an Inspiron 2650 Dell Laptop, purchased just last year. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Depending on your OS, if you are running Windows 2000 or Windows XP, you could take a look via WINMSD (start | run | 'winmsd'), and then under:

    System Summary | hardware resources | IRQ's

Like so. This may or may not work for you - it really depends on your hardware's response to plug and play and driver interrogations... but it can't hurt to check.
