As for Narf - OCs aren't meant to kill, only to discourage. Like turrets. And anything can rip through turrets given enough dedication - just like OCs.
The trick to making turret farms or OC nests work is by staying close to them and using them as cover/extra firepower.

But if you do want to stack them....put a row of DCs behind the row of OCs in front, and put the OCs on top of the DCs
OC blocking seems especially effective on eclipse to me, 2 gorges with a skulk or 2 can get 3 or 4 OC's outside MS really quick and then one gorge and the skulks can move to the other side of MS and block that off, leaving the marines totally trapped.
If you can pull this off before the marines have phases, skulks can finish off any marines outside MS, kill all their res, and have the game wrapped up within 10 minutes (total time). It takes good teamwork though, since you need a lot of res to build up oc's.
Well I usually place mine at access west, alpha, and keyhole.
Marines *can* get out of base, but confront wols out of siege range. Second, aliens can attack from there and retreat TO there - so the marines rarely get to the wols, which exist merely to slow an outward bound rush.
It CAN work but as has been pointed out, usually rine teams figure out that a concerted rush will pile through the OCs.
If you're building any more than 2 OC's in an area, you're wasting res. Only time you should be dropping more than 2 is if it is directly outside their spawn, and you sit there as a gorge to heal the chambers. Lerk > OCs. Fade > OCs. Onos > OCs.
Also, if you think and look hard enough there are some very nice places to drop OC's where there is not enough room for a marine to "strafe attack" the OC, and also placed in certain angles to walls preventing marines from getting an easy view of the OC.
Bah...if ur at rine spawn...and can actually keep OCs ALIVE FOR A LONG TIME...then obviously u have all RTs or almost all....by that time...res flow SHOULD be crazy...which will let u be able to build a bunch of crap.
O O O _O O O O O
Plain and simple...u got the res...u block them in...

Same thing for rines. It keeps them out unless they are dumb, or if they're smart they come back with better weapons.
I'm very good at OC placement and the only way they give me res is if marines rush them futilely.

Pretty much how most people have put their OCs

By that stage you own the rest of the map tho.
