<div class="IPBDescription">pretty good flick</div>Well I saw Once Upon A Time In Mexico and it was pretty good for the most part.
For those that aren't aware of it, the movie is actually a sequel to a movie about 10 years old now called Desperado. And the really fun thing is Desperado itself is a sequel to an even older, less seen, indie film called El Mariachi.
From an action standpoint, Once Upon A Time In Mexico delivers like you would expect if you had seen the other two movies, although the intensity and "cool factor" were slightly less than those seen in Desperado.
The storyline however is where Once Upon A Time In Mexico has its few faults. The first of which is that the story is very, very confusing and in the end rather than making itself clear, it just disregards 2/3 of it because those people are dead anyway. It also has a few characters (Johnny Depp's is the biggest one) whom while they are somewhere inbetween "good" and "bad" (perhaps with a slight lean towards bad) you can't tell if they're on the protagonist or antagonist side of the fence in a very frustrating way.
Much like Desperado, Once Upon A Time In Mexico assumes you haven't seen the other movies in the series and attempts to do a quick catch-up of why the Mariachi does what he does, however this time they completely disregarded almost everything from the first movie. There are some other bad things they do with the story that I won't say due to them massive spoilers, but let me just say I didn't like the changes one bit. There was also an instance of a character they killed in Desperado making an important appearance in this one...
All in all, its a good movie if you're an action movie fan, but if you're a big fan of the series than be prepared for some unsettling changes. Other than that though, its a great movie w/ quite a bit of action.
