Gorge Rush- Ultimate Tool Of Destruction?

Gorge Rushes in 1.04 owned. Marine teams were doomed if they didn't see it coming. Gorge Rushes in 2.0 and the betas are even better. The best thing is- It's very good in large pubs, a little bossing around and every n00b will gorge for the cause. It's quite easy- The aliens go gorge. 3 gorges build Defence Chambers and the rest can build a res node or save res for the actual rush. Everyone goes to the room next to the marine start and heals. When everyone is ready, burst in together.

If the base has no turrets- Stay together, spit and healspray until you clear out most of the marines. Use the RFK res to build OC's next to marine buildings and get some defs if you get hit too much. Kill off the remaining buildings with OC's or bilebombs.

The base may have turrets in it. If you see turrets, send a gorge to build the hive and fall back. Siege (literally. Block the entrances with WOLs) the marine start till you get some lerk/skulk support or the hive goes up. Rush in and find a blind spot in the base. Set up some DC's and OC's there. Bile the turrets, they go down pretty fast with 8 gorges firing simoltanously. When the turrets are gone, follow the first plan.

At this point, the enemies are either dead or respawning in a relocate. If they relocated, siege the relocate and slowly push in with OC's. The res **** that didn't go gorge might be able to go onos now. Join them as they rush in and watch the marines crumble. If you don't have an onos yet, eliminate the turrets with bile bombs and keep building OC's in the relocate room to confuse and kill the marines. Either way, the marines are toasted.

This method is really funny and really cool, it works almost every time. Don't gorge rush in the next round, because they will be ready. Instead, sit there and laugh as they waste the res on early-game turretfarming.

    I guess rushing means that everyone goes in at once... but I usually think of a Rush as something that is done very early in the game, and very fast.
    I don't think you would have bilebomb or onos' that early <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> .

    still, gorge rushes are fun.

    I know personally the devastation that they can cause.
    But my personal way of going about it is get 2 - 3 gorges to stick together get a MC at the hive and get celerity.

    Then run to outside rine start plop down another mc and if u have more res put an oc around a corner to fall back to or just put it on top of the mc. The idea is u have speed and maneuverability with celerity but u still maintain ur adren with the mcs nearby.

    Then grab the rines attention with one gorge and use that same gorge to keep spitting the rines to death, the other two heal the spitter and throw a few balls of goo aswell just to cover.

    Eventually u pull in so much RFK u get sum more mcs and a few more ocs, hopefully the rest of ur team will take advantage of what ur doing and either help out or build nodes or a hive.

    I have done this 10 games in a row and everygame with the same guys and the rines knew what to expect.

    We did have a little hiccup once when someone had a shotty and they concentrated fire on one of the gorges and he died but the other two kept it going and the other guy had so much RFK that he was back as a gorge within a minute.

    This only works with unselfish gorges that are smart and will help out reliably. Try it with mcs it canes.

    without adren you wont be able to healspray/spit for long. may work if the base is guarded only by few rines and no turrets. and buidl wols to contain the rines wont work in most cases. may hold off rambos, but a rine team will cut though with some lmg mags. also you would allow the marines to take the map point they want, b/c all of you are at the rine base or waiting to storm it.
    but it can be useful in midgame, when the base is guarded by 1 or 2 rines and some turrets. you should have bilebomb, dc ups and mc ups. this will surprise the marines and their tf goes down in secs. will cost them the base or at least a huge amount of res...

    Gorge rushes are strong but counterable. It's even a little easier to counter in 2.01e.

    On eof the tricks to a gorge rush is to stay skulk till you get close to their base, then everyone gestate in the vent... then everyone build 2 DC's...

    Forget about defending the hive... howerver if everyone drops (not build though) a OC (and idealy 1 person does a DC) near the IP or com chair during the rush you win.

    Gorge rush = Early game HA rush.

    HA rushes are easy to beat. If the marines rush HA, they won't be able to afford much in the terms of arms lab upgrades, so they won't hit as hard nor have full armor. Much of the time they will even be partially lmg equipped. If the kharaa have anything stronger than skulks, the HA won't stand a chance.
