Who's Gonna Mod Hl2

I've just started this to see who's gonna mod HL2. A friend of mine is, don't know what he's got planned, he said something about a man-eating mushroom. Anyway, I'm also curious about whether anyone would willingly help me on a HL2 SP mod? I'm gonna start writing the story this weekend, once I finish some stuff for history and religion at school. Set present day, real-life weapons, hopefully real-life places. I'll tell you more as I write the story. When I'm a decent way in, I'll post the story on the thread.

    I'll perhaps play a little with the HL 2 SDK.

    Well i've just started playing with the HL1 editer in preparation for HL2. So far i've got 2 rooms, and i've got a barney to patrol between them.     I hope you were planning to contribute more to your potential mod team than merely writing the story.

    Go there and look up HL2, look at all the mods who are so far going to do HL2.

    Once HL2 comes out, everyone is going to start making HL2 mods!
    Heck, HL2 was made with MODS in mind, so it will be alot more friendly!

    I've got 2 projects in mind, one a follow-up and the other a throwback to what I think are some of the greatest games ever. The first is the likely NW 'sequel,' though how closely it resembles a sequel instead of a new storyline and setting is yet to be seen, and the latter may or may not be something I pursue on HL2 tech. For some reason I've got this inkling towards Unreal tech, though not for another revision or two. Of course, the priority of the moment is getting NW done so we can actually get working on the follow-up. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    And, of course, if/when NS does anything on Source, you can guarantee I'll be there. But what happens, if anything, is of course out of my hands.

    I've got a few ideas, and have started work on models as well as storyline and game dynamic planning. Just have to wait on the SDK (like everyone else, seems :b) before thought can be given to actual implementation, as well as discussion with a few other people as to the likely time-investment involved in the TC coding.

    Primarily MP area-control in mind for the standard game at the moment, but may work on ideas for an alternate 'capture the [object]' mode.

    Yes that one.

    Although really, all this Steam crap, unless Valve gets it fixed prompto, I'm starting to think there won't be much of a reason to mod a game nobody can play online... :X

    I'm a total n00b when it comes to modding, but I will try to do as much as I can. Once the storyline is finished, I'll start looking for voice actors, I know a few people who would be perfect for some of the characters. Speaking of voice actors, I need someone who can speak Russian, you'll find out why when the storyline is done. I'll also help with character design, I can't skin or model, but hopefully I'll know how by then.
