Possible Strategy

This would greatly reduce the marine res for kills.. at least until they get weapon upgrades...... might work im not sure..

ANyone ever try this?

    Redemption just doesn't work for me. Could be the ping. Worst thing so far was getting killed as an ONos against ONE lmg marine and ONE turret. I see other people use it on lerks and even skulks and get away with it though, so it could be a valid tactic. Or you could just get carapace/regen and play safer <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    yes cara/regen would be nice... however im aming for suicidal skulks... killin WHATEVER THEY CAN.. then redeeming.. and giving marines NO res for kills.. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Wont work, even having 1 LMG on a <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> is risky, let alone a base.

    You better drop 3 dcs if you want this to work at all. Redem chance for an onos is pretty bad at level 1, imagine what it would be like for a skulk...

    This is completely useless if the commander is smart enough to drop a shotty. He'll kill you, get the RfK, and quickly pay for the shotty.

    If you want a strong skulk stage using dcs, get carapace. Killing the marines is much better than redeeming, and then you can just go heal. You even have at least a chance of surving a shotty blast.

    It's an interesting idea, but probably unworkable due to game mechanics.

    As the game plays now, aliens dominate res nodes in the early game. Thus marines rely on RFK for a larger percentage of their total res than the aliens (at least in the early game). Redeeming (and camping) reduce both marine and aliens kills, thus slowing down the RFK process entirely. In theory, this should hurt the marines more than the aliens.

    Unfortunately, as everyone else has said, the mechanics of redemption insure skulks will rarely benefit from the ability.
