Women gamers are few and far between, no matter what people say. Sure, lots of girls play The Sims and Everquest, but that doesn't make them gamers. (I'd say the opposite, in fact) I have yet to meet a single girl in real life who plays online FPS games like BF1942, Halflife/mods, or Q3, and no Im not a pimply 12 year old loser without a social life, true girl gamers are just rare. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Generally, in order to really stop the mistreatments of girls, we'd have to go to the core of the issue, and place countermeasures against testosterone overflow on the server. That way, if we get too horny, it's just *kick* and the game atmosphere is back to normal.
Basically, if you're female in a community largely built of "losers", you will be hit on. constantly. We can't see faces or bodies through these forums things, so (pardon my crudeness) anything with 2 legs and a hole is hot.
I know alot of female gamers and i dont find it strange that they enjoy action packed games, it's just an stereotype that females only play cookie cute games.
Alot of my female friends play the same games that i do, whatever the content might be.
Personly i find it great that females are picking up interest in an area that bofore was completely dominated by males.
Did you know, that alot of female gamers tend to use androgynmous names or male names when playing some onlinegames? just for the fact that they áre tired of being questioned and looked down upon all the time.

I use to play a FPS game on quake 3 called Navy Seals: Covert Ops My Clan use to have 4 girls in it. I had the most respect for female gamers after I lost my Undefeted Knife battle award to one of the girls after. I had beat all the other members of my clan to pulp with my 1 v 1 (sometimes 3 v 1) knife battles, then one of the girls steps up and PWNED MY ****! I was put in my place!

Why do *most* of the "female" players, suddenly have the urge to put girly names?
I mean, they are playing an action packed game and they would like to be called "Pink Blossom" or something equally feminine.
I believe that there are female players. (And some of them are actually good)
But they have regular names, like "Chrysallis" or something not too feminine.
Bottom line is:
There are female players, but usually you can only tell by their voice. (Hopefully its not an 11 year old boy)
Players with too feminine names are probably guys posing as girls, OR a real girl that just craves attention. i think girls playing FPS games are so damn cool and i wish i could have a girlfriend like that and if i get a girlfriend that doesn't play games i will try to get her to play games. i play games with my guy friends all the time and if i could get a girl to play games with then it's like i wouldn't need guy friends anymore heheheh. i also like girls that are muscular enough that you can see their six-pack. other people think i'm a pervert for not being turned off by that but i just think they are the perverts.

My own personal experience is that it can take a little more to get a woman interested in a game, but once she is, prepare to have yer rump soundly kicked.

Females are no better than males. There is no "males greater than females" OR "females greater than males." Some people think the "right" way of thinking is to think that females are in fact superior, but that's just as biased and sexist as presuming males are superior to females.
Females are very different than males, and it is faulty to think otherwise. However, similarities are more prevalent between men and women than differences are. So I find the best way to make the person that says "you can't do that because you're a <gender here>" is to simply break the rules and do it. There is nothing a guy can do that a girl can't do as well and vice versa (aside from physical aspects).

Why do *most* of the "female" players, suddenly have the urge to put girly names?
I mean, they are playing an action packed game and they would like to be called "Pink Blossom" or something equally feminine.
I believe that there are female players. (And some of them are actually good)
But they have regular names, like "Chrysallis" or something not too feminine.
Bottom line is:
There are female players, but usually you can only tell by their voice. (Hopefully its not an 11 year old boy)

My roomie (Bond Babe, Charlie's Angel, Hokie Bird, Jane says I'm a smart***, etc.) also uses the name "Pink Flower Fairy Princess" from time to time. How can you not find that to be utterly hilarious? When she kills you it's like mocking you in the most inhumane manor possible, and if you kill her, I mean do you really feel any better for it? Females are very different than males, and it is faulty to think otherwise. However, similarities are more prevalent between men and women than differences are. So I find the best way to make the person that says "you can't do that because you're a <gender here>" is to simply break the rules and do it. There is nothing a guy can do that a girl can't do as well and vice versa (aside from physical aspects).
