With resolutions and frame rates
At 800x600x32@100Hz I get 30-40fps

At 1280x960x32@60Hz I get 50-90fps

I've NO clue why at all. Its not a BAD thing, but I was wondering if anyone here knew why

    refresh rate maybe?

    i dunno

    1280x1024 @ 60hz for me is a constant 100fps on a ti4600

Refresh rate has no effect on framerate as long as you dont have VSYNC enabled

One thing I don't get: What do these higher resolutions get you in the game? I know you get very small fonts which have to be addressed, but what are you getting in the gameplay?

If you have large monitor (like me ) you will see ugly interlacing-like lines on 800x600 not to mention the big ugly pixels and ugly jagged fonts. The text goes smaller but on the big monitor its perfect size, if you use low resolution the font will get HUGE and ugly and will cover your whole screen . On a 19" screen you need AT LEAST 1152x864 for good picture quality.
