<div class="IPBDescription">Something you might find interesting...</div> Now, I recall having heard somewhere in the past that PJ was not in fact going to include 'the scouring of the shire' in the third movie, that the most we'd get to it was a nod in the form of the scene in galadriel's mirror in the first movie. However, at theonering.net, they had found a pic of the four hobbits together standing near or by what I would guess to be Hobbiton, here was the caption:

<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->This quite stunning image from what must be 'The Return of the King' features our four Hobbits looking very different from when they started out of Hobbiton. Merry and Pippin in battle amour (and a wee bit taller by my eyes), Frodo looking like a man who has been through hell and back, and Sam very dignified.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

The picture (while it was up) featured exactly what the caption says as I saw it myself. Where is it now you ask?

<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->This image has been removed at the request of the film makers.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

So, whatcha guys think? I think it'd be great if they did include it in the final movie, just as a way of showing how far the hobbit's had come from their humble beginnings <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    No, at the end, Frodo will turn evil and join forces with Sharkey. And then Aragorn will kill him.

    Hey, it's at least as believable as Faramir taking Frodo captive...

    hobbit feet eh?... anyways. I would have thought the hobbiton scene would wrap up the movie nicely. Besides its how it ends in the books so i'd like it pass into the film as welll.

    I really think it should be in there. I understand that lots of stuff had to be cut from the story to make the movies feasible (i.e. The Old Forest/Tom Bombadil, Fangorn Forest, and not just the Ents, going to battle with the orcs, etc.), but for the most part, the things that have been cut were not vital to the story. I would really like to see all that stuff in there, but hey, over 3 hours for each movie is a lot anyways, you have to cut somewhere. All that said, the story just isn't the same without the 'Scouring of the Shire.'

    And yes, Faramir taking Frodo captive really pizzed me off, if you know what I mean. It wasn't so much the fact that Frodo was taken to Osgiliath, which never happened.(and Osgiliath was already a long-ruined city, by the way) No, what really angered me was that in the original story, Faramir was wise and noble enough to set Frodo free at the secret hideout, and help him on his way. Faramir was a friend/semi-tutor of Gandalf's. But if that's my only gripe with the movies made from my all-time favorite story, then I'm content.

    But the Scouring of the Shire is very anti-climatic. Jackson would be breaking one those golden rules of film if all evil is vanquished, the ring destroyed, BUT stuff happens back at Hobbiton.
    I believed it has been confirmed that the Scouring will NOT be shown theatrically (as for the DVD.....).
    As for the removal of the pic, it's happened many times by many movies for secrecy. But the scene could still be in, just not part of the Scouring.

    **Spolier Alert**

    Plus, they have filmed over 5 different endings of Saruman's death, and none have been said to occur outside Isengard.

    **End Spoiler**

    So we shall see.
