    Only photoshopping was resizing the image and adjusting the gamma.

    No messing with any files.

    I was viewing a game in spectator mode and i hit something and it just popped up.

    I'm curious to know how that happened in the public release version, though. I know in playtest versions there was a special menu only Flayra could see, which would let him adjust various numbers for playtesting reasons on-the-fly (super-expensive phase tactic lost to a single skulk? raise certain buildings' hitpoints). I'm not sure what would get that menu type thing, and I don't know what would happen if you tried joining teams 3 or 4.

    That menu is just a left over from Team Fortress and is no longer in the version under development.

    You get this menu by using the TFC custom commandmenu commands (!CHANGECLASS, !CHANGETEAM etc.).
    Most of them won't work at all (!DISGUISEENEMY <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> ) since they rely on special commands (which dont exist in ns), except for maybe !SERVERINFO, which displays the info in a nice window.

    You press enter in spec, I think. People used that "cheat" in PVK to go Pirate on that one knights vs vikings map.

    Yea thats what I did, something with the help menu while in spector mode. The reason I entered spectator mode in the first place was because I noticed that from the lost readyroom, you can see the smoke trail from the alpha hive node. I entered spec mode to see which node it was. Then the menu just popped up.
