THink of someone with a welder: Are people **** for saying "Dude weld me!!" No because you're supporting them.

Blueyonder don't have good servers. They are for noobs.

Voogru has good servers with good people on, but most the time people go on there to mess about due to the mods that are normally running. You will sometimes get a good teamplay oriented game though.

Never even heard of H2O.

Lerk is an area denial class at the early game. Mid and late it is simply put a support class.

If you aren't supporting as a lerk late game you are wasting res.

Lerks are ridiculously lethal for vanilla marines, which makes taking your 25 starting res and getting 5 more quite a good way to spend your res. If you play your cards right, and the marine spawn is a large area such as Lost, you can just flap around sporing the armory and spiking the guys who go after you, and get 50 RFK in no time. Especially with Regen. It's sad. You can just get 100 RFK, go back to hive, and set up a tower of 8 DCs for your Onos buddies to redeem to. Or do whatever you want with them. Lerks are obnoxious to no end for the marines early in the game. As someone said, they break marine expansion in its tracks. Later, as a support class, using umbra to support teammates becomes just as satisfying as spiking rambo marines to death, because at least for me, I get the satisfaction of knowing that the whole marine team hates my guts for being the little lerk who is letting the fades, skulks, and onoses freely attack their turret farms. Lerks are the grease in the alien war machine, and more, they are capable attack units by themselves since they have the principle marine advantage: range. They need to be nerfed. HARD.

Redeem has its good and bad points for an onos. If you haven't figured out that regen, cara, and redemption are all capable of being used to massive effect, then read more topics about it. One day, I hope someone does what I usually do as gorge, and builds 8 DC close enough to marine spawn to be retreated to by a celerity onos. Then I can go cara onos, and live life dangerously.

That last post was the most ridiculous thing I've ever read on these forums. Turret factories are not easy to destroy as lerk, especially with the ridiculous amount of turret spam they have at any res point. If marines are smart they can destroy a lerk easily, and with the new version it's even easier to take out a redemption lerk.

That really wasn't the point. The mentality that redem=god is the problem, and it makes players do stupid things. Stupid things eventually result in death.

1 DC can heal up to 3 things at 1 time, with 10 points a second.
If you add 2 DCs now its up to 20 points a second, or 6 things with 10
if you add 3 DCs its up to 30 points a second or 9 things with 10
if you have 4 DCs now the DCs can heal eachother and the structure and players all at the same time. But because only 3 things can be healed at once, only 2 of the 3 non DC things would get healing (if the DCs had full life)

if you have 8 DCs, you have DCs that heal DCs that heal structures.
or 24 individual things with 10 points of life a second.

Example:

a gorge makes a WoL of 5 OCs
he places 1 DC
that 1 DC will only heal 3 of the 5 OCs at the smae time
if he placed 2 DCs than all 5 will be healed and 2 will be healed faster
if he placed 3 DCs then all five will get double healing and 1 will be healed at triple, but now the DCs count as things to be healed also, so because there are 8 structurs in total and DCs cant heal them selves every structure would heal at double.

o=oc O=dc

ooooo
OOOO

.o...o..o
/|\./|\./|\
O...O..O
\....|..../
.\...|.../
..\..|../
...\.|./
.....O x2

the combinations are vast.

The lerk is fairly balanced. He CAN be a very effective early game area denier, but once they set up camp in an area the lerk could be too late.

As for Onos redemption, which is what this thread is about, on some servers the redeeming Onos doesn't die unless he runs over 5 stacked mines and at the same time gets blasted by like 3 shotties (lvl 3 weps), and this is just assuming turrets aren't firing at him or nothing. It also assumes he's around 250hp, although i think i've been killed by all that crap around 350 hp before I'm not sure if they changed redemption time or whatever in 2.01d or not, could anyone plz tell me? And no i'm not looking to get flamed, just trying to be informant.

Redemption Onos is good for hit-and-runs on UNMANNED expansions, and possibly expansions where they get good support IMO. Heck, I've even seen a couple of redeeming Onos work real well after a fade goes in, blinks around a lot, makes marines waste HMG and shotty ammo, then the mad cows come flyin in. ...And that's just with 1 hive.

If marines have at least half a brain they can make turret factories which will kill lerks in a few seconds.

Marines usually do have at least half a brain, so they know that Turret factories kill no-one (but if electrified and facing electricity oblivious skulks or things that kill themselves in trying to get ride of it in melee combat ). It's the Turrets themselves that do damages.

Besides, being a Lerk, I managed to stay alive a fairly large amount of time, sporing an outpost filled with turrets, waiting for an Onos to come and devast the marines, before someone came to chase me or the said onos came... and redeemed...

Well, I don't know what kind of Lerks you usually encounter, but I usually don't get killed that easily, especially by turrets.

It takes a good ambushed marine with a good ol'shotgun taking me down from behind (what's really fair) or either a marine rush after seeing that *poor* Onos redeemed and left me/us (if we were more than one^^) availible for angry marines to get rapped by (usually with shotties too) to kill me, really.

Because, what's your best friend when you are a Lerk? it's Re-ge-ne-raaaaa-tiooon!
Plus scent o' fear if you want to avoid the ambushing marine issue.
Plus adrenaline if availible in order to do my job more efficiently.

So if I get in range of a turret to shoot me, I won't stay long enough for it to take me down, and I'll get back after a few seconds, when I healed myself accordingly, and get back to whatever I was doing (sporing, umbra-ing, spiking etc).

But following your point I never said that skulks were able to dodge turret's fire. More than 3 turrets mean nearly instant death to no-cara skulks, but it's because they need to get in melee range. Lerks don't have to if they want to spike a turret, or if they want to Umbra/spore aliens/marines.

The point is, I don't complain about Redemption, for Onos or else, because I find Redemption pretty useless for myself, particularly when I play Lerk.

That was just the "half brain" thing that bovered me a little, but I assume since it's early in the morning here in France (00h39 on my clock) ans since I've been on my computer since... wsell I just can't remember... I'll just assume that I was a little tired and over-heated myself too much at an auto-combustion rate on this thing.
