Anyways what did it do and why'd they choose that ability to take out?

    Babblers were just a bunch of skulks that the gorge spit out that did nothing but run to the enemy, ettack, and xeno--major server killer.

    I'm sure they took it out cause it caused so much lag.

    they unleashed a skulk-like thing that had virtually no health, did virtually no damage, and was pretty retarded (attacked an enemy unit or structure if it was pretty close, but other wise they ran around doing nothing but running in place). They were a total placeholder that flayra added in at the last minute before 1.0s release, and they never got addressed until 2.0 came out.

    Babblers were wery fun. If only they fixed the retarded AI. I hope some day they make a return. (But i guess it will never happen)

    Yah they were fun, insanely fun, the best moments of NS are the times when we would stack aliens against marine newbs and get 3 hives while never letting the marines leave their base. After we get the 3 hives, we all would go gorge and just kill all the marines and their stuff with babblers.

    There really isn't the motivation for me to get the 3rd hive anymore as gorge,.. webs *yawn*, I want my retarded skulkbots back, replace spit with babblers.

    babblers were good for general chaos during the last minutes of the marine base while under attack of bilebombing fades, rampaging onos (not devouring but primal screaming and stomping etc), sporing lerks and xenociding skulks.
    but I think the lag argument wins...

    well, i think babblers were good, yeah they were buggy and lagged the server, but they were nice.     I think another reason Babblers were removed is they were an 'indirect' attack... Everything else in the game is either a direct offensive attack, or a static offence... these were, in effect, extra bot characters for the Kharaa. OK, really unintelligent bots, but still.

    Now if Babbelers could make a return with more health, and WhichBot powered AI, they'd be worth it. And if WhichBot's AI didn't work due to the NEED for waypoints, then RCbot's auto-navigation skulks suck a lot more, but are still worlds better than the old run-forward-until-you-hit-a-wall-then-turn-around AI.

    The real problem with Babblers was that if the aliens DID get 3 hives in 1.0x, the game was already won. Babblers were nothing more than a fun little distraction for the game gorge (the only player who went gorge the entire time).

    Ok this might be totally a retarted suggestion but I think it would be cool if perhaps gorges could release 1 babbler with 1 hive, 2 with 2 hives and, 3 with 3 hives.     I have to admit I LOVE how they redid the gorge's abilities though. I like bile bomb.     As someone suggested before why not give the fade the babblers instead of metabolize which is rather useless. Limit it to 3 whichbot like ai babblers/fade with the same stats as an unupgraded skulk only lower the damage they do. This would give the fade an indirect ranged attack at hive 2 and would suit his hit and run combat style. At the moment fades are almost useless since they are so weak that you can do the same job with a skulk and hes free. But imagine sending in 3 babblers first that draw the enemy fire and when their clips are empty you blink in and clean up. That would be so awesome.

    PS: As for the waypoints for the ai i see no problem since they are available for the official maps and can be easily made for user maps. They could just put them into the ns installation file along with the maps. And since the server moves the bots probably they only need to put them in the server package. And i think it wouldn´t be much of a problem if a babbler gets stuck once in a while.

    It got to the point that a babbler kill was similar to a parasite kill in that it was so humiliating. You had to have been webbed, or low low health to die from babblers. What I loved to do though was to shoot out skulks every few seconds or so into marine base (I had o chambers all around, so they couldn't get rid of me). Then, if I saw a skulk, I wouldn't release any babblers. He'd go out, and he'd do some massive damage, because they thought he was another stupid babbler doing nothing.     Yeah babbler kills were rare cause the babblers were much weaker than standard skulks. But if you got a kill it was a feeling like knifing an onos. Pure pwnage.

    Yes babblers were (mostly) useful, cute, and fun, but bile bomb is such an incredibly useful thing for the gorge to have, I am not disappointed that they are gone.

    battle gorge= cara/ adren = 150/125? something like that; Battle Gorge = teh win!

    You can knock out rts in minutes, kill marines easily if they are in a group of two, or by them self, what more could you ask for? Gorges are awesome now!

    Yeah, I think gorges are waaaaaaaaayyy too strong to cost just 10 resources.
    I know they don't want to raise the cost, because they are builders. Just nerf gorges a bit. They shouldn't be powerhouses with 3 hives. They should just be builders.
