Hl2 Multiplayer: Pay To Play?

The first question was on Half Life 2's release date, and they are 100% committed to a 30th September release date. Secondly I asked him about some rumours that we have heard that Half Life 2's multiplayer is going to be 'Pay to Play' only. Unfortunatly the only official response that I received was "No comment". I have to say I was a bit surprised as I was expecting a definite "No", so it looks like Valve may be toying with the idea at the very least. If it is pay2play. No 50 bucks from me for Half-Life 2.
I'd lose all respect for HL/sierra if they did that....
I doubt it will be pay2play. It doesn't make any sense! HL2 isn't a massively multiplayer game so why would it be pay to play. I think Steam is doing some sort of pay system though.
I'll stick with ASE if thats true.

Well, do you think More people play some sort of HL mod online or that certain MMORPGs have more.
Its probably pretty close.
anyway, on topic. there is no way on this planet that valve can make u pay money to play on ur own private server.

actualy no one knows what the hell HL2s multiplayer is like. they have said next to nothing about it. maybe there is a game mode that is mmog in some sense.
Its just rumours and speculation, it would be just like that last line i said. that could suddenly float around the net and ppl are saying there could be a mmog part to HL2. dont believe anything that isnt official.
