<div class="IPBDescription">From the man who animates in wordpad</div> Having done a wordpad job on the Fade Aliens Claws and acid spitter (extensively tested in game and look fine despite what HLMV will show you), I find myself tinkering with the Lerks weapons.
Now, the snag is, when I got into wordpad and switch the triangles for the Lerk jaws with those of the Alien Runner teeth, I can get jaws, and they move, and they use the alien teeth........
However, the models float above the bone (unlike the default lerk models which are pretty much right on the bone). Any idea how to fix this using wordpad?
Second, when I use mdldec.exe to take apart the v_lvl3.mdl, for some reason it won't extract the anims labelled spore->bite and suchlike. Neither will it extract the Draw anim. Bug with mdldec? Any way to extract them?
The basic plan is to turn the Lerk teeth into the alien runner teeth, and take out both spore firers and replace them with the Acid Spitter inner jaw. Pic attached showing the bones problem.
Yes, I know the most obvious answer is "Why not get milkshape? Its free for a month you know" but I'm not wasting my free month on (again) what amounts to a ONE day job. And I'm optimistic since I got the Fade Claws and Acid Spitter working with Wordpad alone.
Ta if you can help!

I'd try them ingame, but of course I can't extract half the anims, so when I repack it half of them are missing. Which again I could fix by renaming the anim files so that the spore attack looks like a scream...
But that'll only tell me what I already know - the model is nowhere near the bone.
Wordpad is horribly limited for editing. And moreso when I'm just learning what the numbers mean. Try as I might I still cant make bones longer or smaller, or move how they attach to models. Now, if I could do that, I could fix those dire ST Arachnid anims for whoever made them.
Nooo, I don't want to use my precious free milkshape trial, nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....

I was experimenting with the acid rocket for the fade, and so far here's what I've cooked up:
The Acid spitting lerk

Though I think I've reached the limit of wordpad convenience. Perhaps I should fork out on Milkshape, it'd make things easier.
Oh, I'm making a start on Onos v weapons to match the behemoth model..... although it'll be the same teeth, same inner mouth, and the addition of runner hands instead of large tusks.
