"Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind's AvP Mod
Introduction: "The plugin is coming along very nicely! The feedback has just been awesome, and it makes us want to get that much more in there. The plugin is twice the size, in terms of content, of what it was when we first announced it- nearly 200 individual meshes, about that number of textures, and an arsenal of weapons larger than any AvP game to date.
"Much of the recent work has been spent optimizing texture quality and file size(for those who don't have high speed) I was using bitmaps, but the textures got up to almost 70 MB, so I began converting them to Morrowind's .DDS format and cut the figure down to a sixth of that. Amazingly, the quality is practically the same.
"We have a talented scripter on board now, PsychoPrimus, and he is taking on a group of programming tasks (NPC behavior, sound banks, etc) that will really add to the overall quality and atmosphere of the plugin. He has done some nice mods for Morrowind, and I'm glad to have him.
"This update is also to officially announce the inclusion of everyone's (other) favorite sci-fi monstrosity- the Alien. It was impossible to ignore the demand for it! I would say that nearly half of all correspondance I've received (in regards to the plugin) has pertained to the presence of the xenomorph. It is being re-animated by Phyntoswasp, and is based on the model that appeared in AvP2. The skin is a slightly modified version of the Giger skin by Taso, which is just a beautiful skin. Best amatuer skin of an alien I believe I've seen.
"One of the biggest hurdles we were facing when we first revealed the plugin was the inclusion of Predator audio samples. It honestly didn't look like it was happening. Thanks to a simple change in formatting, however, you can now hear all the cllicking, hissing and roaring that these guys are known for, with unique samples for male, female, and heavily armored Predators. The alien also delivers all of its trademark audio, for those who were wondering.
"We also have a new class of Predator, the mammoth Vanguard from AvP: Extinction. One stands watch over the crashed Predator space craft, and they are not to be trifled with. They are larger than normal Predators, far more heavily armored, and they wield a plasma scythe that does about as much damage as anything in the game. I felt this class of Predator was one of the strong points of Extinction so we had to get it in. I've taken liberties with its appearance (to bring it closer to the movie mold of Predator) but anyone who is familiar with Zono's RTS will have little difficulty spotting it.
"There is much more to come, but for the time being, I can't say any more. I encourage anyone who wants to follow the progress of the plugin to check out the newest discussion at the Elderscrolls mod forums, and as always, email me with any questions or feedback."
looks great but will it get foxed? i looked for info on that but found none.
