I cannot view video files
Today I wiped my hard drive and reinstalled Windows XP because I had been running out of space, among other things. After getting everything set up again, I discovered that I couldn't play video files. I've attemted viewing the F-Zero gameplay vid from fileplanet, as well as a Halo gamplay vid, but neither of the MOV files work. Windows Media only plays the sound, and I have done everything I could think of; I've updated my video drivers, updated Windows Media Player, updated DirectX, installed DivX, and installed some video codecs that a friend suggested. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I thought of putting this in Tech Support, but the issue doesn't pertain to Natural Selection specifically.

Codecs my friend, lots and lots of Codecs. Try the FHG-Radium Codec, that fixed the No Video but Sound problem I had. Google for it.

While you should probably download the quicktime DOOM suggests, also try playing them in IE for a quick fix. IE usually has .mov support as it is (being a web format) or it needs to download a very small codec.

But yeah, i recommend downloading quicktime player.

Thanx very much everyone. I found and instaleld some more codecs, as well as Quicktime, and now I can view the videos. I'll have to remember this for the next time I reinstall XP.
