<div class="IPBDescription">Does anyone have a fix?</div> Ok, so I'm compiling with Batch Compiler version 2.0.0 and Zoner's tools. I can compile using the built-in hammer "Compile" button but that isn't nearly as customisable as this program. Anyway, lately I've been getting errors saying that the compiler can't find the .wad files when compiling with BC. When compiling in Hammer it works fine, but I don't want to do that. Here's the log, if it helps:

    mmm do you have halflife.wad in half/life/1/valve/<!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    btw why did you make so many folders?

    not sure if this will help but i know in BC you are able to add you wad files under one of the menu's. Add all of em then try it. I dont need to do that but you might.

    <i>Error: Could not open wad file \games\half\life\1\valve\halflife.wad</i>

    Are you sure that should not be: \games\half<b>-</b>life\1\valve\halflife.wad

    The path is absolutely fine. WILL EVERYONE STOP BUGGING ME ABOUT THE BLOODY PATH!???!?!?!!?!??
    And I've tried taking the wads out and putting them back in in hammer, no effect.

    I really want to say your paths. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> Are you sure it is /games/half<b>/</b>life ?

    Is your halflife folder named "half/life"? If so, Hammer could be confused, thinking that your wads are in Games>Half>Life>ext

    Well, since it says it can't find the wad, the paths may be causing the problems. That said, Zoner's Half-Life Tools allows you to override the paths given in the .map file in the wad.cfg file. You might want to try using that. the cfg file explains how to set it up.

    <!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->// GAME TEXTURE WAD CONFIGURATION FILE for 1.7

    // use this file to set the different .wad files to be written into
    // the .bsp file by CSG regardless of the .wad files you might have
    // configured in Worldcraft.

    // if you want to use the configurations in this file, you MUST
    // specify the apropriate configuration with the
    //  -wadconfig configration_name
    // parameter on CSG. otherwise, the wadfile paths in the mapfile
    // will be used.

    // if you DO specify a configuration, the wadfile paths specified
    // in the map file will be ignored. basically, its either this file
    // or the map file, not a mixture of both.

    // if you want to wadinclude a specific file, you may do so using
    // the "include" prefix. the valve configuration below has an
    // example commented out. all 3 examples in this file are perfectly
    // valid, use whichever method you are comfortable with.

    // make sure you change these paths to the real path to your
    // Half-Life directory. note, the syntax of this file has changed
    // significantly since version 1.4<!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

    Nope, since that's your problem <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->.

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Description: The compile tools could not locate a wad file that the map was referencing.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    If you take a look at the paths, you'll see that they omit the drive letter -- e.g. "\games\half\life\1\valve\quasar1.wad". Windows assumes that path is on the same drive as the current working directory, and won't check other drive letters.

    What drive are you running Batch Compiler from? If it's not E drive, that's the source of your problem.

    Also, although I'm using BC and recommend it over Hammer's internal interface, you can modify command line arguments in Hammer's expert/advanced compile dialog mode to do anything that BC does.

    Absolutely I never use Batch Compile, always use the interface, it's just as powerful in my opinion, except for the final compile, like the Distribution version, I use BC there.

    Cagey, I officially love you. Marry me.
