Weird Tapping Sound/ambience Looping

<div class="IPBDescription">Drives me nuts</div> As the topic describes, the ambience sounds like the ns_nothing metallic clank keep doing this lagging, looping thing that creates a tapping sound that makes my head and eardrums hurt. The same thing happens with the menu sounds. Can't figure out what's causing it either, it just... appeared. The problem should be with NS though, since all the other mods work great (well, as for the sounds anyway). I've been having this little issue for about a week now, tried reinstalling three times and installed the newest drivers for my sound card (SB Live! Value) yesterday, didn't help.

Anyone else ever had this problem? Solutions?

what exactly were you doin when it happened, and did you change any settings or install anything prior?

my NS has been doin this too lately, stopsound doesn't work, I updated my sound card and stuff but nothing workin

when i play music, sometimes it loops/skips badly....but i think thats due to my crap sound card (soundmax on board sound) but in other mods i dont have this prob <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

I use a soundmax also but it does everything fine.. update direct x btw if you havent

How do you check yuor direct x version again?

I think i have dx 9.
