i am making Black & White life mod, using lots of stock hl stuff

I want to know, if i change the colours of the skins will this effect the thinsg they are ment to do?

EG.
if i change the colour of the gargs skin, will it still be inval, all but to beam, and explosives?

if i change the colour of "chrome" will this do strange things?

    Changing skins shouldn't change the way hit detection works. Default Half-Life uses the HitBoxes on the model. Changing the crome flag changes the way the texture is rendered, I'm not shure the technicle term, but the texture is modled around the model as it moves making it look like, well, chrome <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    the skin is just how you use it. it doesnt affect any coding in any way.

    how hard is it for a n00b modler to force put sound files into the model - is this in the qc file, or smd file?

    eg -

    i want the model to refrence this sound file
    sounds/guns/shottysound1.wav

    i don't want to make it refrence it through the dll coce though

    It's in the .qc, and you should be able to figure out most of how it's done my looking at the .qc files of other models. For a better guide, grab Valve's modelling guide, linked in the stickied getting started with modelling thread.

    thanks for all the help, i'll now ask over at the sven coop forums for more help - unless

    my garg, and gargt models have be reskined, but the garg in game is all white, insted of the skin i gave him - any ideas how to fix this???
