Conclusive proof that given suitable statistics, 76.9% of the time you can prove anything.

That poll is crap, very few women I know play games. And the few who do are content with The Sims, Theme Park and, at most, Starcraft. And frankly, as long as my buddies work as a team, I don't care about their X and Y chromosomes. ns_caged is a bad place to flirt in I believe.

Could you tell me why it really matters? Believe it or not : The poll is there for interpretation. If you wish to act sarcastic and priggish, than that's your right. <b>However</b>, at least try to be <b>respectful</b>.

That's all well and great if no women you know plays games. What can that possibly say? Perhaps you live in East Podunk, Arkansas (population: 67)? Perhaps you live in New York City? Despite <i>where</i> you live, CNN has the entire "<i>Across the country</i>" thing going on. Unless you travel alot...move alot...or just like to be difficult, trust me: CNN has your number on this one <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Hm.

It is amazing how many gaming girls I know, when I think about it. However, these are not hardcore CSers -- more XBox and PlayStation, actually. And Diablo. Lots of Diablo.

It may be that girls are not that visible in such communities as this one, but that does not mean there aren't many of them. Just means they play other games, or don't bother with the forums.

And I disagree on Caged being a bad place to start a date. What's better than chewing your date's leg? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Hello, weren't you listening they said they play games not they play NS. They even included stats for little girls, do you really think my baby sister is out there playing NS, NO she's in 4th grade and as much as my dad would love NS if he played, I doubt she would be allowed to play it. Yes she plays games; she has lots of computer games. The Jump Start for kids games, the Barbie Adventures things, the Funny Man that Jiggles Game, tons of educational and otherwise not as cool games, but they work for her. Just because it says they play games doesn't mean they play FPS, RPGs. I believe the stats. I’ve been playing computer games ever since we bought a computer, and comparatively just as many girl friends of mine play games as guy friends.

I think the main problem is that some of the male players have way too much testosterone in their hands and a over-developed feeling of property.
"Girls can't play ns because it OUR game..." not an actual quote, but I think it properly reflects the attitude of some gamers.
Anyway, I don't see why girls wouldn't want to play ANY kind of game, be it rpg or fps or whatever. There are male players who dislike fps and prefer to go for sports games. Why can't be girls who prefer to shoot a lot instead of making dresses? after all, with nearly 3 billion people in this planet, guaranteed that you can find anything... it's called variety, for those chauvinist persons.

I really think that for the most part it's stuff like Sims, Counter-Strike ect. I tried to teach a girl how to set up NS, and it was impossible, problem after problem then it wouldn't run. Not her fault tho, the comp was a bit.... well.... Bleh.

as for female gamers... I introduced my gf to mudding when she was 15 or so and she's been doing it for 5 years... while I got sick of it after like 3 =P

and ANOTHER girl introduced ME to UT2k3... I kick her butt most of the time tho >;P but yeah, female gamers DO exist...

about the girls not Hardcore gamers, i think it's true in most cases. ex. at me school there is a girl who got a Geekish Boyfriend, and well she started playing Comp 'cos of that, but almost only plays comp at LANs, i think the main reason is her Firewall....
...and she mostly plays CS i think D: and since its such a popular game i think its whats the most Girls also play...

Now now, it's all well and good to play your little game, but how gullibal do you think we are? Computer gaems specifcally made for girls, yah right. Now you said your little sister so I'm assuming she's a girl, and in the 4th grade, so she really wouldn't be interested in anything passed butterflies and rainbows. And you can't think we'll buy that a 4th grader can operate a computer, come on they can barely walk at that age.

And of course they "don't play NS" cause otherwise we'd be able to call you on your little fiasco and challenge you to play us in a server, but conveniently that can't happen. Right it seems you have a little more convincing to do, carry on.

Pfft could you imagine a girl playing CS? "Aiee bullets! hide me!" then she'd try to find some pepper spray and maybe tae bo a terrorist.

Exactly they shouldn't and that is why they don't come you don't actually believe all this? Name one time you've seen a girl play video games, that's right you haven't. Next thing you know they'll be saying there are girls <i>making</i> video games .

    /me shakes head

Now I understand there is so called eye witness accounts of female gamers, but I'm willing to bet this was nothing but a hoax set up by the shoes and make-up corperations for one reason or another.

Hadn't thought of that as a motivation to recover nancy. "Saving the NS dating scene since 2003"

Now if only my g/f didn't get totally disoriented in first-person games. As much as it's fun watching her walk into walls, she gets cwanky. Which is never good.

That's just like blaming violence on games, that is just plane bad parenting.

Edit: I know a good bit of girls that game but they either stick with TFC, CS, or FireArms, one wont touch NS because it's "Too dark and scary" :\

See not only do girls have no interest in playing video games they are physcially unable to. I of course knew this all along, but then again I don't think they exist anyway. The physical side-efects are probably just safeguards to ensure they never play games.
