Onos Redemption

a minor fix?
Ok here's how my story starts... In a game, we controlled 2 hives with mov and def as chambers. I picked adren and redemption as upgrades. I evolve to onos with these upgrades and proceed to attack a hive location that has become the marines' base.
Now the real fun begins; the marines turret farm (wasn't this a 1.0 tactic?) the place and electrify 2 tf's to cover them. I run on in (after taking down at least 3 CC's that were blocking both entrances... kinda generic) and start getting hit by turrets. I start to gore one and after about 3 seconds, I'm redeemed back to a hive. This happened so many times, that my new goal in life was to actually die in their base.

I'm really not exact as to what the formula for redempt. is, but (just a suggestion) I think that it should be lowered. EX: 500 H and 350 (?) A, I was being redeemed with 175 H and something like 50 A. That seems a little much to be redeemed. Anyway, if someone could clear up the details of redempt., it'd be helpful.

Here's some emoticons to brighten my day.

You redeem when you have reached a certain percentage of your health, thats the plan. And you also have to think of shotguns firing at you - you also need in this case a certain chance of redeeming before it's too late. 3 shotties lvl 3 should tear a redemption onos to shreds before he can redeem if they fire simultaneous.

Redemption kicks in at 40% health. Armor has no effect on it.

You're the first person I've ever heard of taking the Redemption/Adrenaline combo.

If you want to die as a redemption Onos, turrets aren't going to do it. Find some shotgun toting marines.

How about you try Regen instead of Redemption? At ~60 hp a tick you can't go wrong.

yep, once I got stuck (lag, no /stuck plugin in sight) next to the blast door in bast, and grenades were raining down on me (as regen onos of course). Nope, didnt die. In fact, stayed near full health most of the time. Finally, after a few minutes (hoping the lag will die down and free me), I had to /kill myself to let the elevator down to let the rest of the team into marine spawn.

With Regen at only 60HP/2 sec, the Marines must have been blind for you to have survived.

The first thing I want to hear, when I see an Onos, is the distinctive sound of Regen. A Regen Onos is as good as a dead one.

Only if it behaves like a redemption Onos.

Im glad they fixed redemption. I used to hate it when a Onos would run into our base, eat me, gore turrets then redempt with me inside his stomache

I've always been interested in what a Regen Onos' tactics would be. Surely, whatever the tactic, it would require some sort of support?

I've seen Regen Onos act exactly like they have Redemption, and do the following (which obviously resulted in a dead Onos):

i actually dont like regen as onos too much
    too many things can happen
like suddenly a guy spawns and kills u >.>
lvl 3 lmgs are pretty deadly when u take a whole clip
and to lose 100 res over an accidental event kinda sux.....

Yes, generally, it does, though a regeneration Onos can still be effective without support if it's very cautious.

That's why you have stomp. It can quickly and easily correct undesirable situations, either by allowing you to retreat safely or by aiding you in removing the threat.
