its my map. Its been there the past 10 compiles or so. Ive checked all the particles I have in my map, and they are all where they belong. So what could this weird one be.

A stray entity perhaps? Sometimes when you delete a brush tied to an entity, the entity remains floating around, invisible, remaining after it's brush counterpart has been removed. Does that spot where the mystery PS appears happen to be the origin of the map (point 0, 0, 0) by any chance?

Yea, ns_origin has the same problem, In the double-res, Im not sure, but I dont think the author meant for ti to be there.

Now this is scary! Maybe.. reimport the .map and see if there is *something* at this location. Or maybe your *force* created a bright quantum fluctuation?

watch your "check for errors" option, if you havent done yet. move around the solids and entities in this area a bit to figure out whereelse the problem could be. move your complete map some units up/down... I love hl mapping because every day spended with the editor is a day full of surprises <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Moving your map is the only thing you can do.
