How to survive with JP:
1. Know your limitations. You are not a flying marine, not are you a permanently hovering marine. This is perhaps the most important point to understand. You're just as weak as a normal light armor marine in terms of hit points.
2. Know how the jetpack works. See what stops you from gaining altitude, how long you can stay in the air, how well you can maneuver. The jetpack is, in fact, a jump-pack now. You boost yourself up where you need to go. You land and boost yourself again. And so on.
3. The jetpack works for getting to places inaccessible by other marines and also for quickly getting out of trouble. It also works for quick guerilla-like attacks.
4. Know the maps, or get humiliated when you get stuck against corners or bumps and become skulk food - or worse (hint: bloody rectum). There are parts of maps which are jetpack friendly, while some are not that nice. There are special places where jetpackers can fly into to help them survive.
5. Know that having heavier weapons make it harder to fly, and having more ammo makes it even harder. So depending on what your mission is, load up accordingly. For example, if 4 marines are going to make an attack on the hive, they could take shotguns and load 10/25 each, which is more than enough to complete the mission.
6. Don't spam the jump button. This is the worst thing I ever see jetpackers do. They just hold down the jump button and they hug the ceiling or wall... going nowhere. Sometimes it is better to just run around, or land and lift off again.
7. Jetpackers don't take fall damage. Make use of this advantage by plummeting down from heights if you need to escape - but not into item_triggerhurt locations.
err, simple, only use jp on maps where u know ur gonna need em 2 get in2 inacessable areas (redroom). apart from that the change in gameplay is more dependent on HA now because of spores bieng available at the start of a match
