<div class="IPBDescription">any one out there?</div> I remember an old thread discussing DDR (I seem to 'member Kylie being involved), unfortunatly I can't find the thread <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

ok, so my friend got a pair of dance pads for PS2 (no, I don't know brand, but they can act like a normal PS2 controller).

so, I wana set up my mini comp with one of those DDR programs that I heard others talking about.

So what I wana know is:
What ones are good?
decent UI, good compatability with dance pads, etc
Where can I get more musick for em?

That's <b>you</b> Otto? I always move around on that spray, when I see it. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> I love DDR, even though I've only played it with <a href='http://www.stepmania.com' target='_blank'>StepMania</a> on a keyboard. It's improved my reaction times a thousand-fold. I got a dance mat a while back, but it was defective and I never bothered to get a better one. I'll probably get one when I move, though.

Does any one know about hooking up PS2(as in play staiton not the other one <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->) controllers to USB ports?

You need to buy an adapter. Adapters work for PS and PS2 controllers.

Most recommend the EMS USB Controller Adapter. Get it from Level Six <a href='http://www.levelsix.com/products/pc/EMSUSB2.shtml' target='_blank'>here</a>, or from Lik-Sang <a href='http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=0&products_id=1697&' target='_blank'>here</a>.

Been using Stepmania for some time now, and loving it. The official site itself recommends the Lik-Sang adapter as the one they've had the best compatibility with. As for getting music, I was able to get DDR 2nd mix through Extreme plus the Disney Rave music using nothing but the sites Stepmania linked to. I seem to forget where I got some of my better non-bemani-official songs, through (Dumonde's "God Music" and "Sandstorm", Robert Miles' "Children". Amazing stuff.)

Not awesome at it, but I love it. It gives you a workout without the sweaty, bulky trainer and $60 gym fee.
Have also played flashflashrevolution.com. So so...

Heh... DDR's on the computer in the Computer Science guild thingy's common room at Uni. Apparently, they have a mat which hooks up to an old keyboard through some hardware h4x0ring, but they can't be bothered to clear space and play with the keyboard. (My first comment about DDR on computer was "playing with the keyboard? Is that for really tiny people?)

I can't believe no one mension DWI (not driving while intoxicated, it stands for Dance With Intensity). Eats up your cpu cycles to the fullest, but it's really good. I've been playing DDR for about 2 years now, and DWI for maybe a year. Hehe.. i loves my DDR.

But whoever said Pump for the PC was good... please go try it out. It's horrible. Not to say i don't love pump, cuz i do, but pump for the pc is not so good.

I have also bought one of those adaptors. Works pretty well. My friend's ultimate goal is to be able to finish The Return on his pad... gah... if he does manage it i will be SOOO impressed. It has 1200 steps on maniac and it's 7 minutes long. I dont know where he got the song, but those of you who have played the return, you know what i'm talking about.

now. to answer the original question,

    ME! ME! I'm a DDR Freak! ^_^
