Ns_cruisecontrol - new shots

about two weeks ago I started with the layout ... the layout was done in 30 mins or so... and on the same day I started mapping the marine hangar... then I worked through the control room and built the alien hangar... then as the newest main room I added the armory. Now shortly there was a 2 day pause in mapping but I added a few corridors and stuff... the crew rooms, cockpit, storage (not sure yet if storage or something else) and the engine room are not yet done... I don't know what will come first, but here's a topdownview from hammer how far I am right now.

    the transparent pipes is a nice idea but the commander mode seems a bit high.

    Both of those rooms look really boxy. Try rounding off some corners, or adding a height change.

    Nice use of that trim texture in the second shot! It's a bit flat, but blends very well in the scene. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> (I -love- seeing other people use that, seeing as that's one of 2 textures I made in the wall_lab pack. <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo--> )

    First shot looks really cool. Nice subtle feel to the area behind the glass.

    Also, if I needed any more convincing that I need to edit out the panels on that wall_lab texture you're using on the walls, this does the trick right here. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

    hey where can I get this texture pack!? <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> because I actually made this texture myself but I was inspired by the eclipse screenshots.

    I still haven't gotten around to re-naming the textures to submit for possible official inclusion in ns.wad as I meant to do lon ago; I may just do that when I get home. For my own purposes, I tossed them into my ns_eclipse.wad and changed the wall_lab prefix to oldwall_lab.

    Some great architecture there, athough you could do with rounding off a couple of corners.  I would suggest a bit more variation in the lighting; it seems that you have the same style all the way through.  Great work, though!

    i think that ns lightin is well fitted with light-blue and all the white set <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
    also the red fits really well with alien areas.....
