Who plays warcraft iii on battle.net?

Who all plays on Battle.net? US East specifically? I'd love to play some of you guys. perhaps we can arrange a big FFA or team game or something :D

Oh I'm planing on playing WCIII on battle.net once I completed single player mode.

I havnt yet tried an online gane and I havnt had the pleasure of being rushed to death either ...

I rather like the simple SP games or little skirmish between myself and the computer.

I like to hang back, build up defences, upgrade weapons and what not. However I hear a stratagy like this is suicide online because you just get rushed to death within the first 10 minutes.

Maybe Homeworld spoiled me, but that was a game I loved. I could hang back, let the fools kill each other, build up a respectible defence, then fill up on salvage corvettes ... when someone tries to 'tank rush' me, I just steal all thier distroyers and what not ...

quite fun

It was common (for me at least) for games to run well over 2 or 3 hours ... single games ... ah, good times ...

Yeah, thats the thing why I don't play SC in battle.net, also I'd liked to.
You're average lifetime in a SC game is about 3 mins.
Seriously.
I don't get how a Protoss can do up troops 2more times big as my own in the same time. Sure with two warp knots, but where to get the ressources?

I've played on US East a few times (FOR THE HORDE!). Haven't been rushed too badly yet.

War3 is fun, but I prefer playing Gloom and SI personally.

I am CONSIDERING buying the game, but I think I'm going to wait and see how good MoonBase Commander is first. My gaming future looks a bit like: NS, MoonBase Commander, and Battlefield 1942. If Moonbase sucks, then I may buy WC3.

The undead turtling... that's my strat, but... (don't tell anyone...) **NUKED** when I get my next paycheck in 2 weeks I'm going to take whats left (supporting a friend in rehab right now so my funds are very low) and **NUKED**. that being said... I can turtle like a titatium tortise from hell that I can... by the time I get attacked, I'll have at LEAST 12 upgraded zigs, 4 gargoyls, 3 meat wagons, 4 abominations, at least 1 dragon and about a dozen ghouls hacking at trees, and my little level 1 vampire (he doens't level much) It's kinda funny to see an invasion party enter my base, get breat up by my towers, have my meat wagons take out the anti air and then the gargoyls swoop in on siege weapons and finally finish off the hero usually I'll lose 2 or three ziggs, but.... only 1 or two troops, so I recoup, expand with zigs to the next mine, build up defences there, blah blah blah....

Basically if I can get three mines I'll have about 40+ zigs (no joke, I think I may have a screen shot to prove it...)

now you want to talk about some LONG games?

play me at empire earth (that is if I can keep it from syaing I don't have an internet connection) the shortest game I've ever had online was 5 hours, longest.... you really want to know? 15 hours.... my horde of 120+ helicopters kinda swept through the enemie's base, while my armies of workers build missile batteries all over the map to discourage the building of new bases.... sigh... yea... I remember passing out after that game... come to think of it... I think that was the reason I stopped playing EE- waay too long.

A friend lent me his copy for the SP, but he swears he'll kill me if I use it online, and he's sorta crazy so I guess I'll have to wait until I get my own copy, but OMG it's sweet, only thing is it's running a bit slow on my machine. <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>

You damned ######## stop ruining my thread by talking about how you love to steal food from a blizzard programmer's family's dinner. I posted this so that for those who actually bought the game (so far it seems there's only 2) I can play somebody. If you get my post locked I will kill you and eat your skull! ;)

Oh and rushing isn't nearly as bad of a problem in warcraft3 as it is in starcraft (which I hate completely). In fact most of the games I play in there isn't much rushing at all, maybe 1 out of every 4 times. Which is still too high but, what are you gonna do eh? /me shrugs.

So yeah, I play under the name DOOManiac (duh) on US East, I also have a friend Colquhoun. If you see me, message me or whatever. I need <s>fresh meat to slaughter</s> new players to battle in an honorale manner. :)

IN a few days I'll be on the USEast servers most likely, but.. I'm on 56k dialup, and (as one of my friends was telling me) usually that means that I'll get disconnected more often than naught- my friend's got a 10-42 win/loss record. I was witness to about 18 of those losses being from getting disconnected BEFORE a single tree is cut or unit is built. none-the-less I'll be there turtling with the bonez

They supposedly fixed the disconnect issues in a patch. I have not been disconnected, so I cannot say if it is fixed.

I think you would be justified to nuke anything pointing people to where to get warez, but I honestly don't think there is a problem with people posting their opinion on warez.

But hey, I don't know the legal implications of people admitting to using warez on your boards. So, meh.

It's not so much the legal implications as the fact that we exist on this board in a state of benign dictatorship, not a democracy. This is not the place to discuss whether or not theft is justified because it is "only information" (and the life-blood and several year's work of a few [dozen [dozen]] people). Talk to your friends about it. If you want a free game to tide you over until NS, play America's Army.

But to sort-of on topic, I got Warcraft III, immediately regretting not being able to afford the pretty special-edition box there (I mean, a cool DVD and coffee-table book for $20 more). I took it home, booted up, and realized that somehow, I haven't enough space on my PC to install it. So as of Friday afternoon, I houseclean with reckless abandon. I hope this is worth it...

And as far as multiplayer goes, Starcraft turned me off to that in a matter of a dozen games. Maybe WCIII will be diffferent.
