Wouldn't it be cool if a parasite killed it's host like 10 minutes after infesting it or something? Would help against tedious late-game HA pushes.     Johnny, it also does a little damage.

    And once you've played a while, you realise how lethal a situation it can be.

    ok...

    1. parasite is probably one of the best weapons in the game
    2. it has a fair range, try it out
    3. it does about 6/7 damage and even takes down some of your opponents armour 2/3

    No it didnt work in 2.0

    I was thinking about a little extra thing the parasite could do a little while ago, but everything i thought of was to overpowered or useless <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Maybe it could infect the other marines you are in contact with, like Medics poison thingy attack in TFC, but make the range on getting infected from another marine small.

    That isnt too overpowered if the range is small imho, but if they are in base it would do to much dmg, maybe make a "De-Parasiter Machine" or something the commander could drop, I dunno, you have a thought <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    In 2.01b and beyond, parasite can open switches, 2.0-2.01a, it cannot.

    it is REALLY nice for taggin rines/doing damge... newbies try to remember to tag than attack.. SC is not always ur fist chamber... and some people don't always choose SoF

    Yes, it is ranged. It hits instantly, which is why you don't see the projectile.

    Parasite is what you use when a marine is down the hallway. Dont charge him, dont try to do your little wall runs, because your going to get shot if you dont have leap. You poke out the corner, and parasite him. Keep doing that until he comes to you. Postion yourself above him, just around the corner (You can see his progress towards you since hes parasited) and then jump him when he comes around.

    <i>Never</i> charge a marine in a long hallway as a skulk.

    Parasite is a death sentance, basically.

    If a marine is parasited, he WILL be killed pretty soon, unless he has a lot of backup, in which case they must be doing something important, in which case parasite will have shown you what that is <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    As soon as I spawn I check the hivesight and I go to, in order of importance:

    1. Hives under attack
    2. Structures " "
    3. Lifeforms " "
    4. Parasited marines
    5. Large gatherings of aliens (suggests a hive is going up)

    And if none of the above are on the hivesight I just rambo. And since most of the time you won't have 1 or 2, I will generally spend most of my time assisting other skulks/gorges, or killing the parasited ones.

    Teh parasite = teh ded mareen.

    Using that tactic you should beware of organised teams, if you have more than 1 hive up and the marine sare sending a squad to attack your second hive, a tagged marine will go to the first hive to distract the aliens.

    Er... not sure about when you play (no offence,) but when I play aliens <i>no</i> marine lasts 10 minutes. Ever. Not even campers.

    The commander is excused, obviously.
