Does Marines Ever Win Against Aliens?

all it takes is a good comm and yes my alien team has lost alot because of a good comm and a sqaud that doesnt go rambo

Theres that Tupac, but when both teams are hardcore, marines still lose. Its because aliens have a easy advantage right now...but don't worry, thats being fixed VERY soon!

I'm not even going to get into this debate. This has been a very heated debate since the release of 2.0, which explains the server patches that are trying to balance the marines and aliens so marines can get more wins. So far, the 2.01b patch has been successful at balancing it out. That's just my opinion though.

Yes, they do win. They can win. There is every possibility of them winning.

I've probably played over 30 games and have seen the Marines win about 7 times. 6 of the times were when I was playing Aliens--- the ONLY time I'd played them.

So if you look at what I said above, I've only won a single game. I must be cursed. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'>

Play on the 2.01b beta servers. I think Marines win more often on those.

of course marines win sometimes. All it takes is a good comm and some marines that dont go rambo and follow their orders.

I've seen my fair share of marine wins on our server... not exactly even, but it can happen.

You jsut need a few good marines working together, and you should be able to crack it.

lol.... 2.1 is gettin released probably early next month (I don't know how they can get it in by the end of this month...) but 2.01b is a step forward but not quite there..... if the NS team can find the perfect balance between balance and fun I will applaud them <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'> you see if you had a perfectly balanced game than it would be no fun.... 2.0beta HAD perfect balance but again was no fun so they went for fun and it didn't go as expected.... wait for 2.1 and be filled with happiness <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

And thats not good. It should be 50/50 if both teams work together, but many people think Marines don't win because even one person can ruin an entire game for Marines.

on the nut server (the one ang is on about) at the start it was ture around 85% alien victories.. i reckon it is around 55% - 45%

im not joking nut (in the evening) gets a good crowd and then you have a fighting chance...

I've commanded four or five games under 2.0. One I lost because my marines ignored me, and one I lost after an epic battle that dragged on for three hours. The others I mercilessly slaughtered the Kharaa menace. If I can do it, anyone can.

I think its too easy for aliens. I've played about 30 times and have seen marines win 4 times.

Yes and because you do win doesn't mean other people do.

Since its a known issue I'll patiently wait for the next version.

Me too. Maybe if we both always play as the aliens we can help to solve the balance issues ourselves? <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

Yeah, the balance is a little frustrating, but sometimes the marines get a break and the entire alien team decides to immeadiately go onos and not build any res towers. If you've ever played alongside these types of guys as aliens, it's quite satisfying to see them lose.

Just play the game, learn all the tricks you can, and don't let the losses frustrate you. I also recommend playing Aliens just as much as 'rines, they're both fun to play ...as long as you don't let yourself grow cold and bitter...

When things get fixed, you'll be a step ahead as a marine.
