Are Movement Chambers Supposed To...

<div class="IPBDescription">work like this?</div> Basically, on every server I've played, the MC's secondary effect (warp to hive) only cycles through two hives, even if there we have all three hives and is a MC in every hive. This has been the death of my alien team at least twice so far, because we couldn't get back to a hive that was under attack: we'd jsut keep cycling around between our other two hives, until we realized that it wasn't going to happen and we'd have to cross the entire map (often through enemy territory).

Is this intentional, just something we were doing wrong, or what?

Movement chambers teleport you to the hive furthest from the position of that MC. If a hive is under attack all movement chambers will teleport you to that hive.

It warps you to the hive which is furthest away, or to a hive that is directly under fire (the thing has to be flashing red). So assuming no hive is under attack it will always go between the two that are far away from eachother, skipping the one in the middle.

Ah, so it's not like the phase network (which makes sense, since aliens aren't like marines) in that you can't just cycle through until you get to where you want. It could be that our hive was not actually flashing red when we tried, which explains that.

Hmm.. that actually adds quite a lot to strategic planning: considering which hives you'll be able to MC to if needed, and which you wont.

also remember it from the other perspective, if you are a marine in a hive and are going to shoot it down, kill any other structures like DC's before hitting the hive, so the aliens can't warp right in and spoil the party.

The same happened to me today, kept teleporting between Generator and Sewer when Ventilation was under attack? Bug?

Not necessarily a bug. Sometimes siege cannons, since they attack so quickly, don't leave the hive in "attacked" mode long enough to use movement chambers to get to them.
