Find it early
This is just a tip to all who hate it when games go down the drain do to no team work. I've found the best way to get team work started in a game is to get it going at the beginning of the game, find 2 other guys and say lets go out and get some ress or get a hive. Its the best way. Even if that group falls apart you can always duo with another marine/alien and do just fine.

Um..no...2-3 people are nothing. You can't win a game with 3 people.

Team game for Marines (requirements):

Fast clicking / mouse abilities for waypoints
Knowledge of the maps
IN-GAME VOICE NECESSARY
Don't yell (I hate yelling)

Try to make the game fun.

Team game for Aliens (requirements):

Gorges command the battlefield (some cases, the Onos do)
Don't **** over who goes what
Play your best class and stick with it
Make sure to let your teammates know where you're going

These are some of the tactics that I have been using since the release of NS. They still seem to work in most cases even after the huge upgrade with 2.0.

2-3 men squads are essential in medium-sized games. They can harass res chambers and sometimes secure the far-off hives. Backup needs to arrive quickly in a case like that, but putting all your eggs in one basket isn't going to get you very far.

Marines are cheap (read: free), but time and space covered in that alloted time isn't.

Heres how I command. I try to see if my mic co-operates. If not I comm w/o voice, as I can comm+type pretty well. First step is shotgun for a base defender. Then I send a guy to go to the first empty hive...alone. Along the way he caps nodes while my other guys harass a hive. While they harass I build res, sometimes downing the hive, and the game ends. If not we have a 1 hive lockdown and level 1 guns and armor. Afterwords its a push for hive two, and its usually not to difficult because of the resources we have stockpiled. ALWAYS be optimistic when commanding. Bad attitude= no listening= gg.
