<div class="IPBDescription">Any suggestions?</div> I have recently got ADSL 512K connection and I wanted to know what rates I should be setting?
I used the default "updaterate" and "cmdrate" but have changed the "rate" to 7500.
I get no loss and no choke but the updaterate and cmdrate seem very low, 20 and 30.
If anyone has found a stable rate for them and wouldnt mind sharing it Id love to know, thanks.

But really, it varies for everyone, varies on each server, and is a mighty pain in the arse.
cl_updaterate: 70-100 (keep raising it till its unplayable, then use the next playable setting, theres no real set updaterate..you hafta play with it. In fuller games, you may hafta lower it.)
cl_cmdrate: your overall fps. If you can pull 100 fps ALL the time then set this to 101. But if overall you mostly get say... 70 fps (that includes battles) then yea, set to 70.
fps_max: your maximum fps. Again, if you can pull 100 fps then set this to 101
cl_resend: 4-6
cl_cmdbackup: 3-7
cl_lc: the lag compression that allows higher pingers to appear (client side) that its playing like a lan. Some players on a good connection like to turn this off. Its suggested that you only use "0" on lan though. You can play with it if you want, the default is 1.
cl_lb: client side blood. Suggested that you turn this off whenever you play a game with any random kick to the weapons. It can throw you off with it on, showing you hits that arent true. Default is 1.

Dont go posting total salami hear (nonsens), cl_cmdrate has absolutely 100% NOTHING to do with your fps... You can have it as low as 1 and still have 100 fps... Usually I have it 40-50, with 100 fps non-stop...
