Milkshape Or Gmax

I'm a bit confused now. I don't like Milkshape because it is hard to keep a model accurate. At least I am not good at it so I tried GMax and the only export function it has is 'Plasma'??
As there are people using GMax for Half-Life (I hope) might someone tell me what I can export and how? Plugins anywhere? Can I export animations? Just want to model some plants <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

i'd suggest you give milkshape a sencond try, especially for weapons and other lowpoly HL models i find it much easier to work with and it's already got many necessary plugins to compile models [u should try and avoid it for decompiling tho]

if you model in gmax you have to download the tempest pack for quake 3, this will allow you to export as a .md3 format which can easily be imported into milkshape for final tweaking for ns.

    Why not try 3dmax?

Birdy, maybe because it COSTS A LOT OF MONEY? (well, im sure ive seen it for about £3,500 somewhere)

I've not really used MS3D before, but G-Max, being a free 3DSMax LITE, has a steep learning curve if you've never done any of this stuff before...
