How about 'none'? I enjoy the screams of my vanquished foes. That's the real music to my ears.

I vote for an 'All' category. Yes, that means either All at Once, or Various.

Am I the only believer in Punk music? You kids and your Britney and your Moby and your Ludacris. Don't you understand that none of them are fit to hold Black Flag's sweaty, soiled, cigarette burned skivvie drawers?

Scythe, the simple mention of the Beatles among the music you listen to knocks you up quite a few notches in my book. They are simply the greatest band ever.

No music while gaming for me (hearing the sounds of the game is much more important), but generally I listen to kind of a mix between alternative, metal, and classical. I'd have to say my favorite is either Ozzy Osbourne (hence the sig ) or the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, although I've got quite a range of MP3's and CD's.

Pop?
I thought this thread was dedicated to music...

I'm treating my ears with a constant ratio of Nickleback, Spineshank, Disturbed, Limp Bizkit, The Eels, Unwritten Law, POD, Ataris, some German punk bands none of you has ever heard of, and generaly everything that sounds good.

Some kind of techno-classical a little like in planet of the apes would fit well, it believe. I'm gonna mix something together and send it...
• hArkhArk Join Date: 2002-01-26 Member: 92Members
Well me metal mainly but any thing that sounds good and is not country or rap and don’t repeat them selves over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over until you get ###### off at it.

I know a musician that liked every type of music but hate pop in fact don’t know many that do like pop coming to think of it.

The Starland Vocal Band? Ah. Not really.

Tool. Tool Tool Tool Tool Tool Tool.

Also, 6gig, which is a tremendous metal band from Maine that doesn't really get the attention it deserves. (I highly recommend them: http://www.ultimatummusic.com/6gig/multimedia/hit_the_ground.mp3 )

Old punk is great, too. ### Pistols, Husker Du, the Clash, etc.

(edit:)

Hey, before the first BETA is released, as a preview to the public someone should make a 9:23 second preview movie to the song Lateralis, by Tool. It could be an example battle, and the times of fighting could be when the hard rock parts are, and the other eerie scouting parts could be during the calmer, clean guitar parts of the song.

LOL.

I took the word sex out of the filtering. That was a bit too much. Besides, anyone who likes the Clash can't be all bad.

I did add the word 'wislocki' to the filter though - sounds too much like a Polish slang term for butthead.

Yeah, right . . . when you add 'of steaming poo' to the end of 'Wislocki', it doesn't make sense . . . as opposed to other last names I might mention . . . . .

Wait a second... hey, you're RIGHT! No one has ever made that connection before! Wow. So it's like... I'm a poo 'pyle'. That's so weird that I never caught that.

You're just mad because we figured out that your avatar isn't an odd picture of Jean Claude Van Damme - it's actually YOU, who happens to look like JCVD getting his annual proctological exam.

Woot!

Ned, do you ever sleep?!?!!?

Can't you let me have a moment, here?

Ironically, you're not too far from the truth . . . many people have described my appearance as "JCVD and 'Lowell from the show Wings' have a ba$tard child". Minus the karate and wife beating, of course.

To me, theres nothing funnier than listening to music totally out of place for the game. Listening to the beatles sing the words "All you need is love" As you gun down allies rushing up Omaha beach leaves certain funny tang in your brain that is odd. Also try some of those cheesy fifties songs with the jingling bells and harmonies. Along with barber shop quartets "Hello my baby, Hello my honey!" etc . .

I love punk music but for this game none of the categories would fit. I feel soundscapes would be the best thing for a game such as this. If you pop the half life or aliens versus predator cd's in your Hi-Fi system and have a listen to the audio tracks They creep me out. They don't really come into a category and are more like soundscapes plus getting copyrighted stuff could be a pain in the butt.
