The Lunixmonster And Me Being Kicked

Hopefully this is the right place to discuss this...

I have played at "The Lunixmonster" server (powered by Readyroom.org) several times now and it had been a pleasure compared to my experiences at "no name" public servers.

Nevertheless it was abruptly ended twice because I was kicked. The console said something like "You had been kicked. Don't spam the server. You have been warned".

First of all it never was and still isn't my intention to spam, second I can not remember what I did wrong, third I can not remember in which form there had been a warning, fourth please tell me which rule I broke since I want to prevent being kicked in the future, fifth please tell me whether this kick had been manual be an admin or auotmatic by a script and sixth please tell me if somewthing is wrong or bad with the following keybind:

    spamming the server would be like what you have set up. If you spam console commands (more than a certain number in a certain time period, I'm not sure how the server admins set that), or if you spam text, you will be kicked. A kick is a warning that would lead to a ban, but more than likely you were "warned" if you scroll through your console, it DOES warn you. If you have this bound to wheel mouse and you scroll it, you probably say it what, a minimum of 5 times? That's spam.

    well this is not the place to discuss server kickings bannings ect.... but you have been respectable so i dont think the admins will beat you to hard <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    anyway, best thing is to do is to get in contact with mousE, or any other admin running that server.... explain your problem to them and try and strighten it out

    twas a kick and not a ban, so nothing to take up. He just needs to watch the command/text spam in the future and the problem will be avoided

    Spamming "Incoming" six times in less than one second is perhaps putting your point across a bit too mcuh.

    It's like saying things with dozens of exclamations marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Not really needed. One line of "Incoming" ought to do it. I have in agony pressed my "Med kit" key a lot of times when the commander just didnt react. That landed me a few kicks from servers with spam control too. Nothing to do than to behave. It's entirely related to text output.

    I love the Lunixmonster but I try to avoid it...I get into a really great game...and I get kicked because of a reserved slot. :/

    I dont know why you were kicked but if you were kicked for spamming then it's probably one of the following: med/ammo spam, buildings spam, chat spam, ect...

    I personaly got kicked from from the server for recycling the base as commnder <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> , so my guess is that its a script.

    I dont see anything wrong with the script, except it can be used to chat spam very easily being bound to the mouse wheel and all.

    You got kicked automaticly by the AdminMod AntiFlood plugin. Designed to prevent bind spamming among other things.

    The warning would have been text on the center of your screen: <b>You are Flooding the server. STOP.</b>

    There is not much space between warning and kick IIRC.

    There is a rule in place against text spamming, and this plugin normally handles that. Spamming binds like that is generally a no-no.

    In the future send complaints to the server e-mail, sunnyd@readyroom.org

    EDIT: I checked my logs, and to be honest, it looks like you spun the mousewheel fast.

    ya know these forums arent the place for these sorts of complaints.. take it up with the server admins or owners on either their own forums, IRC channels or other places of that nature.. not on these forums
