Silence And Motion Tracking

Wasn't silence supposed to negate motion
As the title says, wasn't silence supposed to negate motion tracking?

I was under the impression that one of the alien upgrades would negate motion tracking.

Cloaking doesn't, all it does is hide you from marines not watching the blue circles.

So what is it, was this scrapped or what?

sensory negates motion tracking: the chamber.

as stated above (and sorry, I hate myself for posting it, but it was also mentioned in multiple threads titled just about the same), the sensory chamber negates mt within it's effective radius. The silence upgrade doesn't do anything except make you *tada* silent (which in and of itself is enough.... leap-bite with silence and scent of fear pwns)

Ive found the number of comms upgrading motion tracking early enough to be effective astounding. Its by far the best upgrade you can get for 45 res.

By the way what in the hell would gave you the idea that being quiet would negate something that detects MOTION?

Silence eliminates motion tracking if you come up behind them.

Motion tracking was supposed to be vibration dependent, IE a sound makes vibrations. Silence was to eliminate the vibrations MT used to detect movement.

And exactly HOW does sens negate MT? Last time I checked even a sensory chamber decloaked when scanned or NEAR an observitory.

    [Edit]

Every chance I get Hamster, every chance I get. Though I do smurf when I want to play for fun.

Sens chambers negate MT within their cloaking radius. The trick is to build a sens network, over lapping areas of cloaking that allow aliens to move from place to place unmolested, or to provide quality ambush spots.

Sensory negates Motion Tracking, Observatories negate Sensory.

    So...

    1) If you're outside the are of either structure, you show on MT.
    2) If you're inside the area of a sensory, but outside the area of an obs, you don't show up on MT.
    3) If you're inside the area of a sensory, but ALSO in the area of an obs, you show up on MT.

    Does that clear it up?
