and such
Hi its me again *sigh*
Alright... here's the system specs:
ATI RAGE MOBILITY M1 AGP - 8.0mb
YAMAHA DS-XG
128 MB RAM
Intel Pentium III - 740MHz
DirectX 9.0b
Windows 2000 Professional
approx 56k
Other ppl can actually use this:
Followed the guide that monseiur wrote at rr.org, changed everything that applied to me (a lot of it was for higher - end cpu's) here is the link: link
Here's my shortcut line thingie : C:\WINNT\system32\CMD.EXE /C "start /HIGH D:\Jon\Sierra\Half-Life\hl.exe -console -game ns -numericping -noipx -nojoy -heapsize 100000 -16bpp"
I defragment and clean C: and D: drive regularly - you can find all that in Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools
Pretty sure there is no spyware or viruses taking up cpu space... update them regularly too. i use McAfee btw
When i run HL, it takes up 99% of cpu... there are few backround processes, and hl's priority is set to "high"
that's about it..
By the way,
My video card is not compatible with OpenGL - i use DirectX... don't tell me to update it, the model of my laptop failed... every laptop has a custom video card b/c of the special monitor... it can only be updated by the manufacturer... the manufacturer (sony) gave up on this model b/c it sucked.. thats why i cannot update video or sound card or BIOS (whatever that is)
So... without spending any money... how else could I boost performance? Because i avergae at about 10 - 15 fps and when I see a building it goes down and stays down at 4.
A few questions... I have Everything but my game installed on C drive, and all of my games are on D drive. Is this a good idea?
also... where would I find how much physical memory i have
also... in multiplayer, customize (are they ever gonna spell that correctly) i have view 90 FOV enabled... What does it do?
also... tell me any fps boosting commands for the console, im all ears
also... what is the best mode for DirectX? Because it sems to run the same speed at 400*300 as 640*480

Good luck. But, could you explain your question a little bit clearly? I dont know what your really asking here...but I'm a little "slow" in the head, so dont mind me that much.
Forget all of this, the fan melted or something on my cpu, and now when you turn it on, it says "operating system not found"
