\half-life\

    They should be, like:

    dustbowl0001.bmp, or something like it.

My HL is odd... it saves it in the mod folder, and as a TGA file instead of a BMP. If you don't find them, check there.

that would be the default if you changed nothing during install.

This may sound a little insulting, but are you sure you have your SC key bound?

Uhm, I believe HL saves them as 'tga' if your SC key is bound to "screenshot," if you want them as 'bmp' bind the key to "snapshot."

This is off the topic, but I really need help. I have tried to use the "envmap" command in the console, but it never seems to work. It just creates a set of 52KB Bmp images that can't be opened .I really do not know why, and I would really like someone to help. Sorry TychoCelchuuu for trying to hijack the topic.

do a search in windows for *.bmp then look through til you find the screenies.

They should be in the relevant mod folder or /valve/.

However my PC once had a problem wherebyu the screenies would end up all over the place, windows/system, any direcotry on my HD.

Also that I think was realted to a problem I had whereby I would get stopped at map change saying it couldn't find the map. I think my currentdir in HL was getting correupted each time I booted the PC up or I started Hl.

That was the weirdest PC prob I've ever had, but as with all things a formattin' solved it

As for anythign else try typing screenshot in the console, it will say where it dumps the file, which will be a .tga
