.cab Extractor?

<div class="IPBDescription">My game!</div> Sort of a problem here. After MUCH searching I bought AvP2. I have a fetish of copying the entire game install stuff to harddisk before installing. (Data pack-rat I guess) Anyway, My stupid brother dropped a disc, and then put the bottom of my chair on the disk shattering it. I can't afford to buy it again, and have no C-d burner. Is it possible to continue installing by maybe extracting the cab files? erm maybe u could screw about with daemon tools

but no cd-burner... ouch =]

borrow one off ur friend and plug it in

So its not possible? I can get installation halfway but then it can't find the second c-d. All the datas in one folder....wonder whyh

I use PowerArchiver.....it unzip/unpacks every kind of zip,rar,tar,etc. file there is!

Yeah, I thought it did too, but I'm not sure. Try <a href='http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=extract+.cab+files' target='_blank'>using Google</a>. There seem to be a number of matches.

only windows cab files... there are many encrypted kinds of cab files.. mostly games using encryption on their cabs...


but sometimes youre lucky.. and that damn unpacker recognizes this one specific cab file..

Well I can run setup and it only goes half-way then requests disc 2....disc 2 was the disc that got smushed....so....help?

I suggest you rent the second disc from some friend (if at all possible...).

This is possible if the game only uses 1 install cd.
If it uses 2 ur screwed.

I know blizzard does this, but you can try mailing all the cracked pieces to the manufactur and ask them for a replacement (usually 10 bucks)
