Just Read This If Your A Comm

It actually works.
Ok, at the start of every game, when your comm, tell them over the mic, "DO NOT TALK ON THE MIC UNLESS YOU ARE IN SQUAD (#). IF YOU DO, I WILL MUTE YOU, AND YOU WONT EVER GET ANYTHING."

Well, I did this 40 times, every time it worked, and we won. Without EVER securing a hive, surprisingly.

Just try it. And even though it annoys the HELL out of everyone, showing your majorly **** off is generally a good idea on voice comm, because it will get people to shutup if you do it without insulting them.

My 2 cents.

It's too bad it's a bluff. There's no way you can keep track of who's talking and who's not. It's hard enough when you have a small number of well behaved marines, but keeping track of who said what and what group they're in and trying to be a comm at the same time just isn't going to happen.

Hm yes backseat comms can really **** me off (eh yea I do it myself some but I'm workin on that). I get really tired of people spamming the "In position" "Health" "Ammo", mic, etc, etc at me when we have no res. Promptly I tell them to SUYF and look at the res before opening their mouth, sadly it has yet to work for me.

I won a game as comm without saying a word. Most of my marines did everything I wanted before I had to tell them so I just played off their moves.

Generally if marines are beingidiots, id let them know what i think of them, and abuse them till they start listening.

Its important to stamp down ur authority.

And if they do try and talk back or dont followmy orders i guarantee them that i wont give them any equipment , and try and build on them when i can ( which ish arder in 2.0 but still possible).

If the marines are being good andnice etc i show them my gratitude and give them lots of equip and upgrades etc. Also if a game is lost becausei chose the wrong strat ill admit it, rather than blame it ont hemarines.

Oh my! You wont give them equipment! That wil surely teach them.
God, its a game. When I rambo, and commander tells me "OMG I WONT GIVE U EQUIPMENT OR MEDPACKZ11!!".

Who cares, all I need is my lmg and pistol, its a game, I aint gonna take **** from no one :/

Using fear as a tool to get respect is bad. Very bad. Telling them they wont get stuff if they dont do as you wish is bad. I dont command that much, but when I do, I treat them as my equals. I constantly check on them, keep upgrades up, try to give them a fighting chance and sense of purpose. I know when to end their suffering and never will turret farm base or try to delay the inevitable. I am grateful that I recently got a mic. It helps commanding a lot. Those are people playing. They have morale, lives, skill, and different tactics. Use them wisely.

This is a game. I treat it like one. Objective is to win. Having fun in the process is the goal ;-)

Reading all this posts telling people what to do, when its so freaking obvious is kind of retarded. I wish people stopped the retardedness with the SO-freaking-OBVIOUS threads :/

"fear as a tool to get respect is bad."

Fear as a method of keeping them in line is good. Respect comes later.

Second, as "retarded" as the obvious posts are, they're necessary. Pub servers are swarming with people who don't even grasp the obvious.

I have a funny habit of doing that often.

    Anyways...

IT\ts best not to **** off your team entirely, they just might eject you/not listen to you, whine, rambo, etc...

Best way to get your troops off your armory is to recycle it in five seconds if they don't get the hell off of it.

People don't fear other people on the internet.

Sure, it's a great tactic in real armies. But we're all people just playing a game to have fun. Showing that you're a flexible, tolerant person usually gets people to listen to you.

    Wow, I forgot about this.

But I just did it last night. Again. Worked.
I don't know, they may not be scared of me, I don't care, but they get pretty quiet quick. I let them have their fun- I just don't like screwups.

And Soberana, it sounds to me like your pretty cold and heartless. It may be just a game, but when you have fun, its usually because you like the people your with. So....ya.

Umm, if you yell alot, your just going to **** poeple off.

Yell only when necessary, like if a outpost is gonna go down.

Otherwise keep it to yourself, if a comm has nothing good to say or yells too much, there is a magical method to make it stop.

Just pull up the scoreboard and leftclick on their name, walla, instant blocking of that annoying person who yells to much.

The idea of putting 'fear' into teammates doesnt make much sense to me. It's sure fun to not listen to a yelling comm tho! Do the opposite they say, hahah, cracks me up every time.
