Rush Or Die!

I've come to the conclusion of many hours of gameplay on the [CoFR] server that either the Marines do a shotty rush or lose. It's that simple. I've found it becoming an exercise in futility to play Marines anymore and quite boring to play the Aliens. I hope something is in the works for 2.01.

funny, I've seen quite a few non-rush marine wins on that same server.

Of course, this is assuming that you really do mean RUSH and not just a group use of shotties.

I played a game that went somewhere between 40 mins and an hour, on CoFR, commanded by the illustrious Keyser59. We took the double node and a hive room. We sieged one of their two hives, and then after some quick recon of their defenses, made a shotty/HA march from the newly-downed hive to their remaining hive. There was no "rushing" about it -- it was just solid teamwork under a good commander.

I strongly disagree. I've had a number of marine wins using "classic marine" tactics, i.e. slow expansion with lots of turret fortified mini bases, siege installments to clear hives, and HA/HMG laying down the smack. It's actually fairly easy to pull off a marine win in that fashion.

I have yet to see a shotgun rush work.

edit: Just to clarify, I disagree with our illustirous former President Truman, not Coil.
