    How many times must we say it: turrets are not the problem. The featured screenshot was pathetic: i've seen bases with that many turrets sure, but only 1 gl spammer? Good base spams here in Australia have at least 4 gl spammers, more usually the whole team, plus 3-4 armouries to keep those guys in endless ammo. It's the gl's that screw the aliens over: how do you bile bomb when you have to walk through AT LEAST TWO grenade explosions to even get within range? Skulks, forget it. Lerks, yeah right. Fades, if you are VERY lucky can actually make it to within SIGHT of the turrets, at which point even with carapace they're dead. Oni are the only thing that can actually survive to reach the base, and surprise surprise they draw the attention of the OTHER gl spammers. Trust me, no matter how motivated or co-ordinated the aliens are, against the right set-up it's an endless stalemate until one side F4s or the marines have enough res to push out in HA.

    Bilebomb doesn't work in these situations <b>because you can't get through the spam.</b> It has a painfully short range which means you have to expose yourself to fire. Between turrets, GLs and non-GL marines, you can't effectively bilebomb anything. Unless you actually kill the turret, you've done nothing, since it will just be welded again. It's not some secret weapon that comms know nothing about.

    On a side note, that farm isn't that bad. Double the number of turrets isn't uncommon.

    Bilebomb it away, umbra rush, or as someone said, blink past it all and take out their CC.

    You act like 1 gorge should be able to take it all.

    Here's a hint....get a couple of onos to go in and take the fire as your 5 gorges bilebomb the crap out of everything.

    we played a long-drawn out game on NS_veil. We had just crushed the marine's last extra resource node, and ran in to check out their base. The marines squished us, and immediately dropped GLs. I think 3 of them, soon to be 4-5. They did an armory crawl, dropping new armories every 10 feet so that the GL'ers can continue their spam. They did this for about 2 minutes, when we cracked the other side (now that there were few marines IN the base to shoot at us, we took advantage of that fact), and ended the game.

    Whenever they turtle up in their base.. lame up just outside of the base and try to take them out. when that fails, just fall back, build lame in layers (a little further back, and a little further back) on each side of the marine base. Eventually, they'll overextend themselves, and you can crush them with 6 cows (onos).

    Try that strat. If they don't leave their base, then they aren't playing the game and you can go AFK, get something to drink, whatever. OMG F4'ing is lame! Sorry, had to say it.

    The best solution I have for this situation is for the commander to ask his marines if they want to do a slow crawl out of their base. If the answer is no, then don't do it, let the aliens get their victory, don't make them take forever just to do what everyone knew was going to happen. If the marines want to keep fighting, lame up, tech up, and move out. If the aliens haven't killed you by then, they deserve whatever comes to them.

    Alright people, I don't think the game needs any tweaking what so ever, infact, I think its the maps that need tweaking.

    Most Marine starts have only aprroximatly 2 entryways, and those entryways are most likely small enough for people to nade spam it effectively. Hence thats why relocating to Atmo (ns_bast) is a BAD idea. Less doorways to protect, the less you need to spread your defenses outward. So, if some kind mapmaker would take this onto consideration when creating Marine Start location, I think stalemates would be a lot less lame.

    turrets now do half damage vs onos and ocs to half dmg vs HA in 2.01d so its all good now.

    I just don't think the game needs any tweaking what so ever. You just need to make much more balanced maps, with equal or accessability for Marine and Alien alike.

    One note - bile bomb goes further if you jump as you shoot it. (Like grenades in CS)

    marine res for kills should be increased, not removed. remember they are the weak team.

    You know how you can correct turret farming lamers who purposely make the end games last forever with 2 GLers, CCs in the doorways, & 30 turrets in base? BAN THEM. I really do think if a bunch of comms started to get some bans from admins on servers for this then there would be less 3 hour stalemates brough down by the marines. I know this sounds "extreme" but stalemates are being brought almost every game by moronic comms who refuse to upgrade weapons, expand, take hives, go for choke points & instead farm the hell out of base. This is horrible teamplaying & I'd be more than happy to never see them in a NS game again.

    The best thing you can do when that happens is tell the server admin. The turret farm/gl spam happened on voogrus server and i just went on irc and told voogru to stop it and he specced and slayed anybody who started spamming/armory humping and told the comm to not build any more turrets or be slayed
