<div class="IPBDescription"> - in the works</div> Ok boys and Girls, after a few weeks of bad-dreams, i've decided to start organizing for a "MODEL MAKING COMPETITION"
i plan to lead you into many many more of these competitions, but this will be the first, and by far, the most lamely organized.
here's how it will work:
- One Gun
- One modeler (please no joint-ventures)
- Three ( count 'em 3 ) Weeks to finish the model (from post of image/link)
- Three awards
- Lowest Poly while retaining shape
- Highest Detail
- Best "Overall"

the goal is to have the gun in-game in less than two months... i've been having dreams of holding these types of conpetitions for a while...
If the guns do not make it in game, they will be hosted by either T2K or Burncycle's web page... (shhh, no telling)
other than that, we are looking for more modelers (infinate amounts) and skinners (infinate amounts)
reply here if you wish to be a part of the competition... the judges should get togther to talk, to decide on a gun. once you get it hammered out, post it up here, and PM me so i can edit this post with the current information.

ok talked to coil, and he gave me a word or two... this is why we talk about this on IRC.... so we can get instant feedback.
modeling contest... first, and then a skinning contest... just to give people a chance to be on both sides of it.
but yeah, still gunna do a model contest, and then a skin teh model contest... just to releave the pressure on some of the skinners...

Wanna be a modeller, skinner, judge, etc
There will be a modeling contest, followed by a skinning contest for the winning model.
There are lots who <i>want</i> to judge. I'd imagine that only a few are actually chosen though. I'm torn at the moment between wanting to have a go at modelling or being a lazy SOB and just judging instead.

Question: How would it work - would it be freeform, with people asked simply to make a gun, or will there be tighter guidelines (make a pistol, for example)?
btw, can i skin my own model?

Radiance will post up a nice link to information on the gun, and a few images of the gun.
it is an extra bonus if the gun is meshed... but not required... i'm thinking of making it required... but i'm not sure.
