<div class="IPBDescription">For those looking for a degree in Gaming</div> The Univeristy I attend has developed a new curriculum around game design. Here's a brief outline in PDF format: <a href='http://www.ferris.edu/htmls/academics/atc/digital.pdf' target='_blank'>Digital Animation and Game Design</a>

<a href='http://www.ferris.edu/homepage.htm' target='_blank'>Ferris State University</a> is a great school based in Big Rapids, Michigan. However, from what I can find, this new program is only offered at <a href='http://www.ferris.edu/htmls/academics/atc/index.htm' target='_blank'>the Grand Rapids Campus</a> which is where I take classes.

I don't know much about this program yet but if I had to start all over again, I'd really consider it.

Sounds similar to some of the courses that I'm thinking about studying in Uni Next year. It's hard to get much info on them as they are fairly new courses. However because of this the entry requirements are pretty low so I have pretty much my pick of courses. the best ones I've seen so far are the sandwich courses, I dunno if you have them in the US but basicly you spend the 3rd year of a 4 year course working in an industry placment and get paid.(yay!). You can get some really great placements, like oracle in the US where they give you a house and a car all rent free and pay you about £20,000+ or $35,000+ for the year, Rawk! And there's always a chance you'll get put with a decent firm, like Revolution, SI, Core etc. etc. It also gives you a wide skill set, multiple programing languages, 3d modeling, AI, physics programming, a decent maths background and of course advanced computer literacy. I'm lookuing forward to it.

Spooge, there are quite a few schools doing this already - my college has had a major in game design for about three years - John Romero and Tom Hall teach engine design. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
