Screen Cropping

K, did a search an nothing so here goes.

I'm getting my screen cropped when I join a game. It didn't used to do that.
There is a missing band on the right and the bottom. I can see the rest of my desktop. If I hit ESC and then rejoin, it goes full screen but then it wont show my health, ammo etc stats.
Any clues?

Half-Life should be run in a resolution that is lower than or equal to your desktop resolution. Running Half-Life in a full-screen or windowed mode that is greater than your desktop resolution can cause problems.

I've got my desktop at 1024x768... and the game at 800x600

Okay I think I'm getting closer..

When this happens I get the missing bitmap prob (640_overwatchscheme) Anyways, I know this has nothing to do with it but the game resolution is set to 800x600.

Bah.. The only fix is to re-install.. over.. and over again.. Sigh

if you are using new xhairs try everything default first. If it still screws up, download it from a legit location.

i'm having this same prob, i just switched from a geforce2 mx 200, to a radeon 7500, and now the screen is cropped, my pc resolution is 1024x768, and i'm trying to play with 800x600, any thoughts?

same happens to me if I decide to play in 800X600, only solution ive found is to set the desktop to 800X600 first.
