<div class="IPBDescription">When anyone speaks, I just get crackily.</div> Their names pop up and that's cool, but all I can hear is crackily noises.
In the console it talks about some sort of sound module being used (mmmywave004 or something like that) and NS is the only thing I'm running. Please help. It's driving me INSANE!

If its just with certain people its a problem their end. If it happens with everyone i haven't got a clue, sorry.
It could be lag on your computer.. or the server
Post some better comp specs?
If you still have this problem after updating DirectX
Try this
Start> Run> dxdiag
If it asks you about certificates click Yes
Look on the first page, where it says DirectX Version:
Mine says 9.0b, which is the latest available
Go through each tab on DXDiag and run all the different tests.
Then click Save All Information and upload the text file
1.0 GHZ Pentium 3
Geforce 3 Ti200
Aureal Vortex
512MB Ram
Iiyama 1600x1200 monitor
DirectX 9.0b
BTW, it happends with EVERYONE on every single server, yet strangely the voice comm on Counter-Strike works perfectly.
Now that I think about it, its actually wavein.MMYSYSTEM004 that's causing the trouble. Unfortunately, I have NO idea what the hell that means as I have nothing running 'cept Gamespy and the game when it says that.

If there are any errors with directx, dxdiag *will* find them
Go through all the directx tabs, doing all the tests!
This problem has been seen a lot,
Check your sound configs for ns
Check your sound card drivers.
Even searching, I didn't find any solutions to this
