    Hmm. 13th? Unlucky? Probably not.

I'll have to read this report. Is it a yearly thing or what?

Bah.  I won't trouble you with my thoughts about this report only that I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

Its hard to believe Japan is only 9th. They have almost no crime there.

Its also hard to believe Canada is still in 3rd, with that Jean Cretien guy screwing everything up, he's a complete idiot. But nevertheless, Canada r good <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

Tzarcon, I do believe they take crime into account when making this list. I hear that's one of the reasons US is not higher (sorry Spooge)

Norway was first last year too, but Canada was first the year before that, if I'm not mistaken.

It should be noted that the top xx countries have barely different sum of HDI-index at all.

Yes, this is a yearly report.

So finally i found Germany: #17
I think most of us can be happy to live in countries that have rankings with at most 2 numbers and have a internet-connection...

    YAY! USA, USA, USA! YAY! NUMB3R 6! WE R0CKZ0RZ TH3 W0RLD5 B0X0RZ! YAY!

Silly Norwegians, we let you have the top spot this year, but next year, look out! We will be back, and we will win!

Not that it is a competition, but that would be cool, all the countries of the world competing in the "Globalympics". For the first part of the year, all the nations compete socially, economically, and some other words I can't think of at the moment. Then, at the end of the year, we have a thermonuclear battle royale between the top 2 contenders, with the victor being awarded a small trophy with their choice of either a hockey player or a golfer on top.

I also note I am an American citizen and have always lived in the US, though left it on travel at times.
