Dropships

<div class="IPBDescription">Need them....or...not?</div>The hype for months has been people amking dropships for others...amazingly well done...are they really needed?  Not one of the maps being playtested has a dropship, and they all work very well.  Is this an amazing graphical pleaser, or a waste of planes and r_speeds?

    So it's all up to the mapper if they want them in for atmospheric effect or not. Really, atmosphere -does- matter in this game, though you can achieve it through any number of means, only one of which is a dropship.

    i'd put a dropship in a map i made, if i could make maps detailed enough for this mod that is, its bad enough for me making decently-detailed HLDM/HLSP/sven co-op maps, but a decently detailed NS map? ha, i doubt i could even make one close to the normal quality for NS (wait, i could just it would take a looong time) and about the real topic here:
    id put em in gladly, like having the marines start in there, with the commander console and everything right there, a resource thing just outside, not many resources in it, since its  easy to find and stuff, then of course, put more throughout the rest of the map, if any1 wants an idea for a map, ive got 1... (i like this one alot... if only some1 could make it)

    Bast does have a dropship, but you only ever see the loading platform.  Unless you were told what it was I doubt you would recognise it.  Those pictures are fairly outdated now.

    I'm not Relic, but since when has this been anything -other- than a landing/cargo bay with a loading elevator/dropship/whatever?

    Aye carumba, is that an old shot!  About the only thing that's still the same in that room is the pad and its armatures and that support foot in the far corner.

    /me is seriously confused now.

    This is how the map is right now.  The texturing of the room around it changed a little and other details were added, but it's still the same landing platform at the marine start.

    Eeeerrrhh.. Yeah. So they look a lot alike. I dunno, the new hotness ceiling didn't scream "Spaceship" to me, whereas old 'n busted's did.

    i dunno if it does coz theres somthin blockin the roof so we cant see it completely.... but i like a lot more the ambience of the room of the new one.... but its true that b4, the dropship was more "clear" now it has so many detail that u only see an elevator......
