Is It Ns Or The Players

iv been reading alot about NS 2.0 as well as playing it to see what i could possible sujest to improve( when those damn forums come back online ) i have noticed there have been three major factions popping up in complaints, there are the ones that say NS may have made a few mistakes that what there have put in couldent possible have been meant to be included ( these guys are idiots ) theres the guys who say NS was once great but now its simply gone down the toilet( just shut up and get a job), and finally the NS veterins that think NS new major problem isent the few bugs needed to hammered out with an iron fist but the noobies. Ok marines are winning 33% of the time (aprently i thought it would way lower around 5%) and still thats a crap figer, ever noticed that people who go how i get a better gun and what this butten do BANG! oops, are always on the marine team these are the guys on TFC who ask (this is a genuine qout) "whys that guy running from our yard with a flag?" so it begins what can we do to combat the noobies a good start would be to enable us to kick more than once from the com chair i kick one nooibe from the chair only for anouther to jump in. Yes i know we were all noobies once but were we really that crap, i mean people who bother to DL a mod before its made famous seem to be the guys who have conquered every mod and were looking for a new chalenge found it and stayed with NS. This new breed of noobie all share one thing in common they join the marines. The marines are losing couse there getting 2 vets and 6 noobies while aliens are getting 10 vets (more people always join aliens). The problem is there no auto balancing anymore and if one person on marines presses F4 the damn game goues down the toilet. So i leave this to you what do you think is the problem with NS, The game, the noobies or your parents shouting that they want the ohone just after youve connected to your fav server which yoo have been wagiting to join for at least half an hour couse every one refuses to leave.

    Actually, the main "problem" with NS is that atm, good commanders win 9/10 games, bad commanders win 1/10 pub games.

    Apart from a few flaws (onos devour/redemption, too short range on electrified RT's allowing skulks to eat them safely), 2.0 will be pretty good once you get enough skilled commanders. Once that happens, the aliens have to shape up to win games.

    However, the balance problem is in 6v6 clan games, where skilled aliens rule over skilled marines. IMO, this is due to the fairly fast res in small games making the marines loose the tech race.

    Can't you just acknowledge the factions without dissing them? The idea of complaint factions is interesting after all. There has got to be more than three...

    It's the players. I've seen a good marine team so decisively own a relatively competent alien team that it can't have been the skill advantage alone. The game's balanced, the players aren't. It's not that the marine players are worse than the alien players, it's that the tactics have changed so radically for the marines. You can't just tech off two or three nodes and expect to win with a jp/hmg rush anymore, you need to get out there and start taking ground. Marines have become too accustomed to turtling and turret farming instead of taking the offensive. I still don't see marines starting to occupy much of the map, but the games where they do are a much greater challenge than the maps where they mostly stay in base. There's a need for more communication, better commanders (or just commanders that stop playing 1.04 and start playing 2.0) and more initiative on the marines' side, all the things that come with experienced. Hardly anyone is an experienced player after eleven days.
    For starters: Get node, defend node, fortify node, get next node. That's the basic strategy for both sides.

    Oh and it also helps to quit humping the armory. When you're doing a mission, and you die, there is no time for more ammo, you must get back to where you died ASAP! Marines are gonna keep throwing themselves at the battle area for a bit, but the aliens might be able to take it over/hold it if the marines can't keep the pressue up! Stopping for ammo, even for 2 extra clips from the armory, takes time. Extra time costs initative, initative = key to victory.

    its the players, and the servers. some server are infested with retards. and some have good players ( by good i dont mean good at ns, i just mena they are not idiots and ruein the game ) ... but yeh its the players, not ns, if it was ns then everygame u play will suck **** 100% of the time, but thats not the case, i have gg, and sg sometimes. i think ns has totally improved with this update, but im still not confident commanding in this version yet. im having to much fun sporeing marines at the start of the game = )

    iv been thinking about it and i think if you put some periods here and there in your post it would be easier to read also it wouldnt hurt to occasionally capitalize one of your sentances or maybe even all of them its not that hard all you have to do is press that shiftkey every now and then while you are typing also whenever you say i it should be capitalized and things like commas apostrophes and other punctuation would be good but thats just my opinions what does everybody else think your post was clever and insightful but it was a pain in the as to read

    I do not see ONE single symbol of punctuation in Warpzone's post. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Wait... I think that's an apostrophe.

    Whoops. Thanks there, lazygamer. That one just slipped by me. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Monkeymaster, even though my post was right after yours, I wasn't addressing you. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Your punctuation isn't perfect, but I've seen much... well, <i>less.</i>

    I disagree, there are only two factions, right or wrong, and you should have to figure out which is which! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I, personally, however, do believe there is a small inbalance in early game tech rate, well shown by the fact that, even with 2.01b slanted towards marines, the CAL tourney going on ASSUMES no one will win as 'rines, or very very few. However, it's not the horrible thing most downsayers argue (such as "OMG OMG AL GUYS @ 1 HIVE IS SO SUTPD!", and I doubt 99% of players could even see it if you told them where to look, simply because it's not something overt. So, mostly, it's the players, but 2.0 is slightly unbalanced. Plus, we want the client patch to make the new collision code in 2.01c work!

    They way I see it, is that not many people understand the nuances of the game yet, it's very different from 1.04. When I started playing ns way back in 1.0, I played it for about 2-3 weeks, and left disgusted by the fact that the aliens won EVERY SINGLE TIME, a long while later i think at patch 1.02, or 1.03 I came back to give NS another try and was pleased to find that the marines could actually win about 50% of the time. What happened in the time that I left was that people acutally figured out how to play the game, so give a while and eventually the game will go more smoothly.
