Ns Causes Hl To Freeze

... but all other mods work...
Everytime i try to start up NS i get the console screen and everything looks like it is going fine, untill the point where the console is supposed to glide upwards and the gamma settings are changed. When this happens the console moves 0.5 cm and then HL buggers, no error my comp just freezes... (I might want to add that i am currently having trouble with my soundcard can this be the problem?)

umm, system specs would be nice

do you get a sound loop when this hapens?

can you ctrl-alt-del or alt tab out? (or is it time to reach for the kill switch?)

also you might wana look through the other threads, if you problem maches any of them EXACTLY, you might/might not find a solution

Now that would be a cool idea. For those of you who know anything about Linux you probably know about kill (and the ever wonderfull kill -9)
kill -9 programname will kill any program nomattter what (the -9 forces it through). Now if we could make some sorta hardware signal that forces a kill comand through to windows when a program fries then there you go, no mre restarts .
Note I do realize that when windows freezes the OS is probably also dead and thus this could not work (where as in linux you can almost always ssh in and drop the kill command dfrom there, something I have to do all to often )
