If you're only concerned for Onos testing, do what i do, set up a bind which takes you through all the motions of evolving to an Onos. I would post mine but it got lost in the 1.04 - 2.0 changeover. =\

I'm not sure if monster_furniture's deletion from the 2.0 FGD is an oversight or not, but I've emailed and asked about it. I scanned the FGD before release, but I didn't notice that it (and monster_generic, for that matter) were missing from the list.

I was planning on having some custom mdls in my own map, so hopefully it's still supported.

You can use models in your map with the cycler entities or env_sprite, just make sure the file path in the entity is set to models/x.mdl

I was under the impression that there was some baggage with the cycler entities -- green particle spray and animation change when shot, etc.

I haven't used env_sprite with a model before, so I'll look into that.
